The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Continuity mistake: When Jean-Do is shaving his father, there is suddenly a lot more shaving cream under his nose where he had already been shaved. Also, because the camera is so close, you can tell that he had no stubble anywhere to begin with. (00:55:30)

Factual error: When Jean-Dominique is taken on a boat ride, a 'Speedferries' vessel can be seen in the background. This company did not commence business until 2004, years after the time in which the story is set and years after Bauby's death in 1997.

Continuity mistake: In the car, First Jean-Do hasn't got a belt but his son has got. After that his son hasn't got. After that Jean-Do and his son have got belt. (01:41:50 - 02:42:10)

Other mistake: The effects of a stroke are unilateral, and the movie shows his right eye affected, but the facial droop is shown on the left side. This wouldn't happen. The droop would be on the same side as the eye.

Jean-Dominique Bauby: A poet once said, "Only a fool laughs when nothing's funny"
