The Return of Jafar

Jafar returns from the Cave of Wonders with Iago's help, but Iago leaves Jafar behind, having gotten tired of listening to Jafar boss him around. He goes to Agrabah, but isn't met with a warm welcome. Aladdin decides Iago can stay, but not everyone else agrees. Meanwhile, a thief named Abis Mal finds Jafar's lamp, and agrees to help take the wicked genie to Agrabah to take revenge on Aladdin.

Blue Genie: Giddy up, slowpoke, what's keeping you?
Aladdin 'Al': Nothing. Well, something, but I'll tell you later.

Trivia: The movie was initially conceived of as a one-hour TV special/pilot to usher in the "Aladdin" animated series, but co-director Tad Stones convinced Disney that it should be lengthened slightly and released direct-to-video as a feature-film. Disney accepted his offer after being impressed by animation tests, which they felt were very high quality for the low-budget that the project was given.
