Ocean's Twelve

Corrected entry: When discussing the Coronation Egg robbery, Livingstone Dell tells us that the laser grid is random so they wouldn't be able to plan their moves around them. So how could the Night Fox have come up with that cool dance to get passed them?

Correction: He's adapting his moves as the laser grid shifts - it's not pre-planned.

Corrected entry: In Ocean's Eleven, Rusty has a large tattoo on his left arm that goes down to his hand and is on the back of his hand. At the beginning of Ocean's Twelve, when he comes home and takes his jacket off, he has a different, hammerhead shark shaped tattoo on his arm. Later, when they are on the plane to Amsterdam and he is awakened by Matt Damon, there is a tattoo that goes down to his hand again.

Correction: The tattoo we see in present day is the tattoo he has now. The tattoo you see in the beginning of the movie is from the past, so he either got it finished, retouched, redone, or covered over. Anything he could've added/changed within the timespan the two events take place.

The same tattoo on the left hand is in Ocean's Eleven too, many years before the room scene.

Factual error: The scene where Nightfox steals the Faberge Egg is all wrong. A laser security system must have a photoelectric receptor at the other side to detect if somebody pass between the two devices. As shown in the film, the laser beams points everywhere, so the system can't work and somebody could cross a beam without starting the alarm. Even if it was some weird system based on measuring distance it wouldn't work - if the laser hits the floor at an angle it won't bounce back to the source, it will reflect towards the ceiling.

Answer: A "lost in translation" is a kind of con - Danny, Rusty and Matsui basically pulled a prank on Linus to make him feel like he didn't know what they were talking about when, in fact, they were just speaking gibberish.

Steph_Jared

Almost right. Actually, Danny, Rusty and Matsui weren't just speaking nonsense, all the conversation contains their plan.

Answer: It's a joke that Matsui plays on newbies. Near the end of the film, When Linus tells his mother (Cherry Jones) he blew the meet with Matsui, she explains that's his idea of a joke on new players. Linus then comments he didn't see that coming. (Damon shows a moment of bad acting, he can barely contain his laughter).
