Continuity mistake: When Barbara is standing on the cliff, we see that is is cloudy and foggy all around her. When she looks down to jump, it is sunny along the bottom of the cliff. However after she looks up, it's cloudy and foggy again for the rest of the scene.

The alien kids make Dr. Susan Verner stab herself. Alan goes to the children's school with an explosive inside a suitcase. They try to read his mind and he blocks his thoughts... but not for long. He successfully blocks his thoughts and while the children are trying to go into his mind, Jill and her son David escape. Alan isn't able to block this thoughts for that long and the children read Alan's mind and seconds later the explosive detonates, killing Alan and the children.
