Other mistake: Nadia appealing for a lawyer to act on behalf of Mrs Yakamoto in her divorce is pointless. An American lawyer would be of no value to her: her divorce (should she decide to go through with it) would be heard in front of a Japanese court, and they are extremely stingy with women who divorce their husbands. Nadia may not know that, but Mr and Mrs Yakamoto are Japanese nationals - she is wearing traditional dress! The American lawyers would know perfectly well that the divorce would be handled by a Japanese court - the US would have no jurisdiction at all.
Continuity mistake: When Walter is in the music store, a man puts on his glasses and walks past him, then in the next close-up that man is at the counter, puts on his glasses and walks past again. Other people around Walter, in both shots, differ in their actions too. (01:11:20)
Revealing mistake: When David drives through the outer wall of the bakery products store, in the side shot the wall first bends, then it breaks as the car goes through. Also, the next back shot is a repetitive action, although the window breaks quite differently in both shots. (00:50:45)
Continuity mistake: Both times Walter is seen peeking out from behind the curtains of the pool house, the reflection on the glass doors show the view opposite the pool house and there are empty chairs on the lawn. However, in the shots before and after there is a crowd gathered on the lawn and guests seated for the garden wedding. (01:24:50)
Continuity mistake: At the restaurant, after the waiter pours the champagne into the flutes, without touching her glass Nadia walks away from the table. When she returns, in the front shot her flute is in the same position and has the same amount of champagne, but in the next shot from behind as she sits, her flute is almost empty and moved over next to the menus. (00:27:20)
Continuity mistake: When Walter slips in the Bedford's bedroom their bed is seen in the background. In the next shot when the judge and his wife walk into the bedroom, the pillow, blankets and book are arranged differently on the bed. (01:19:05)
Deliberate mistake: Walter slips on a golf ball in the judge's bedroom and the stuntman is seen taking the hard fall. (01:19:05)
Continuity mistake: As Mrs. Bedford is swinging the golf balls into the pool and in the wide shot, Judge Bedford comes out and stands right near her, yet in the next close-up he's just coming out and walks over to her. (01:12:45)
Continuity mistake: As Walter falls he passes Jordan's window and the view from outside shows the trellis that David knocked over earlier. The trellis leans to the side of the window, but in the shot looking out from Jordan's room the trellis blocks part of the window. (01:21:55)
Continuity mistake: At the court, as David speaks with his father, Judge Bedford, in the shots facing the judge his left hand is tucked in and he is holding the broken gavel in his right hand pointing it towards David, but in the subsequent shots facing David, the judge angrily grips the gavel in both hands. (01:08:40)
Revealing mistake: David drives through the paint store window and the interior shot shows many exploding paint cans, among them exploding blue paint cans. In the next exterior shot, cans are falling directly in front of the car, but are not exploding paint as in the first shot. More importantly, the yellow and blue paint cans that have been stored overhead, fall from above and have no lids, thus spilling paint as it falls down towards the car. Obviously done for the effect of a greater paint mess. (00:37:10)
Continuity mistake: The alarm goes off and in the close-up Walter is lying on a pile of messy papers, but in the wide shot of the room, as he gets dressed, there are two neat stacks of papers. (00:00:45)
Deliberate mistake: David climbs over the balcony and starts to climb down the trellis. In the wide shot the stuntman for John Larroquette is blatantly obvious. (01:20:15)
Deliberate mistake: David and Walter start to fight in the bedroom at the home of the party. In the next shot as they have locked onto each other, they crash through the glass doors and as they reach the banister they actually let go of each other, face outward and do a lovely professional stunt double flip. In the next shot, the stunt men crash onto the table and in the last shot it's back to the actors again. (00:55:00)
Audio problem: At the wedding, Nadia sees Walter across the pool and in the close-up of her face we hear her let out a loud shriek, but visually she does no such thing. (01:29:55)
Continuity mistake: The paint on David's clothes differs completely from the initial paint store accident to when he's in the disco and within these shots the paint differs, even if the paint smeared.
Continuity mistake: As David drives through the pet shop window, in the wide shot the part of the window with the painting of the pelican stays intact and the frame of the window pane is on top of the car. However in the close-up, there is no glass still attached and the frame is not on top of the car. (00:35:15)
Continuity mistake: Before and during Walter's jump into the pool, Walter's shirt is buttoned, yet in the next shot underwater his shirt is completely unbuttoned. (01:29:55)
Continuity mistake: At the recording studio, Walter's jacket is lying on the pillow in the close-ups, but in the wide shots it is lying on the arm of the couch. (00:21:10)
Deliberate mistake: While driving on the freeway, Nadia causes Walter to swerve the car and in the exterior wide shot it's not Bruce Willis driving the car. (00:33:35)
