Continuity mistake: Ripley kills the alien in the corridor after it has killed the first member of the Betty crew but there is no melting of decks or bulkheads from the creature's acidic blood. Also, the Betty crew seem unaffected by all the acid. (00:46:00)
It is 200 years since Ellen Ripley died on Fiorina 161. Ripley's former employers, The Weyland-Yutani Company has dissolved and now the United Systems Military has assumed the task of breeding and harnessing the deadly aliens. With blood samples taken from her previous life, scientists clone a new Ripley in order to extract the queen alien inside of her. The new Ripley, known as number 8, acquires physical and emotional traits from both humanity and the aliens, making her question where her allegiances lie. Shortly after, the aliens break free and commence killing those onboard. Ripley, along with a crew of smugglers that unknowingly helped in delivering hosts to breed the alien species, must now escape the perilous ship. Along the way, Ripley encounters a shocking revelation that truly sets herself against both humanity and the alien species. She must now decide what she truly is, in order to save humanity once more.and with their ship making their way towards earth, automatically, it really is war.
[Ripley is staring at a fork.]
Trivia: In the scene where Ripley discovers the room full of failed clones, she stumbles upon Ripley 7, a hideous, malformed but still living clone. The entire scene after she discovers her ill-fated 'sister' is ripped directly from, and is an homage to, one of the most famous deleted scenes from the original Alien. Ripley finds a long dead Brett and barely living Dallas cocooned in the bowels of the Nostromo, and Dallas asks her in a pathetic, painful voice to kill him. She obliges by using her flamethrower. The scene in Resurrection is almost 100% identical, everything from the design of the flamethrower to the emotional reaction and facial expressions she had in the cut Alien scene.
Question: If Ripley was operated on and an alien removed a few days ago, how come they have a fully grown queen who is laying eggs, 8 to be precise as there are 8 people who have been ingested and turned into aliens? But later, when most of the crew have ejected successfully or been killed when a hand grenade was thrown into their escape pod along with an alien, one of the scientists says there are 12 more? How can that be?
