Continuity mistake: When they are gathered down in the cellar, right before Cindy says "are they gone?". Have a close look in the background. There is a lot of stuff and mess there. Later when Cindy has the flashback from the tape we see the exact same corner as earlier, but now it is cleaned up and the ladder has been placed there. (01:00:10 - 01:06:20)
Continuity mistake: When Tom gets down to the cellar you see George standing by something that is covered by a brown carpet. When it cuts to Tom walking you can see a trash can suddenly appear on the right side of the brown carpet. Not easy to see cause it happens kind of fast, but if you roll it in slow motion you can see it. (01:00:10)
Continuity mistake: Right after George comes with the statue of Jesus he turns around and turns the the light on as he walks. When it cuts to a closeup of the light switch he turns it on again. (01:01:00)
Continuity mistake: When Cindy slowly approaches the cellar door because she can see there's someone on the other side, you can see to the left of the door, and no shovels are visible, but later when Mahalik gets into the cellar shovels have suddenly appeared there. (01:01:15 - 01:02:55)
Continuity mistake: When they are in the cellar you see Cindy reaching for a knife. On the same table as the knife you can see different items. A pincers, a grindstone, a screwdriver and so on. In the next shot you can see all these items are replaced by similar but yet different items. The grindstone in the next shot are larger than the other. The pincers in the next shot are smaller than the other and so on. (01:01:25)
Continuity mistake: When in the cellar, Cindy reaches for a knife then looks into it, to see her reflection, and brushes her hair with her other hand. But in the next shot her hand is way back from her hair and is resting on the door. (01:01:30)
Continuity mistake: In the cellar, as Cindy picks up the knife from the table, she raises it to face level twice. (01:01:30)
Continuity mistake: When Cindy pushes the knife under the door, her left knee is a few inches from the door. When it cuts her knee is close into the door. (01:01:35)
Continuity mistake: After Cindy has slid the knife under the door, her knee moves closer to the knife between the shots. (01:01:45)
Continuity mistake: After George has beaten up Cody with a baseball bat, when the boy staggers towards Cindy, he has a big scratch on his forehead. Then the next time we see him, only about thirty seconds later in the same scene, he's fine and the scratch has miraculously healed. (01:02:00 - 01:03:00)
Continuity mistake: When George is hitting the arms holding Cody by the coal slide, you can see up the slide that it is totally dark. When the arms release Cody there is suddenly bright light up the slide. (01:02:15)
Continuity mistake: When Mahalik comes down the slide into the cellar you see there is no coal down the slide. But when it cuts there is coal all over the floor and on the slide. (01:02:35)
Continuity mistake: When Mahalik hands over the shovel to George you see him holding a shovel as well. But the way Mahalik is holding the shovel changes between the shots. First the handle points forwards and in the next shot the handle points backwards. (01:03:00)
Continuity mistake: When they are outside and Mahalik chucks his shovel you see George holding his shovel. In the next shot from behind you see George holding the shovel higher up. (01:03:20)
Continuity mistake: When the president hits the two aliens in his car the two aliens fall over with their hands out front and the car stops while they are falling, but in the next scene the aliens are under the car. (01:03:25)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the aliens first land, when the president's car hits them, they fall face-down, onto their stomach. When they show a close-up of the president laying the money on them, they are laying on their back. (01:03:25)
Continuity mistake: After the President hits the aliens he pulls out some money if you look he takes out 2 ten dollar bills but when he puts it on the aliens chest its 2 twenty dollar bills. (01:03:35)
Continuity mistake: When the President puts some bills onto the dead Alien, they disappear in the wider shot. (01:03:35)
Continuity mistake: When CJ and his gang arrive at the cornfields, CJ says "Let's go do this.." and you can see his gang behind him. Then in a wide shot he says "...Cause I'm hyped right now" and you can see the gang behind him again, but this time they are standing in different places. (01:04:15)
Continuity mistake: When the 'hood' show up, just before the aliens appear, they all start having a fight. One of the men says 'Your Mama' and he is rolling up a cigarette by his face. But in the next shot, his hands are down by his side, and he's even acquired has a gun in one hand. (01:04:30)
