Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, the boy checks his calender and crosses of the final box in August, meaning that it would be September. However, when he goes outside, all the leaves are orange and brown. A little early for the leaves to be changing. (00:04:00)
Factual error: The boxer named Wilson is most definately a female dog even though Wilson is supposed to be a male. You can see this very easily when they're all in the park and they're rolling around on the grass.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where all of the dogs are talking in the Garage Nelly goes under a tarp of some sort.In one shot she is going under the tarp the next she is out of the tarp.And then she is back under the tarp.
Wilson: You can really understand me? Right now, you can understand what I am saying to you?
Owen: Yep.
Wilson: Can I have a cookie? No wait, ten cookies? No, can I have twenty cookies? Twenty cookies?
Trivia: The boy who played Owen received a dog just like Nelly at the end of shooting the film. The crew pretended it was an extra scene so he would be surprised.
