Factual error: When Homer and Candy go to the movies, the theater has stadium seating. This seating style in theaters wasn't used until much later, not in the early 1940's, and certainly not in Maine.

Homer's heart was not weak. Dr. Larch simply did not want to lose him to the war. Homer knows he can never be with Candy, and goes back to the oprhanage to replace Dr. Larch, who passed away.

Question: Is it ever revealed why Candy has the abortion? She is in a relationship with the baby's father, they both have jobs, etc. Is it because she doesn't want to raise the baby herself while he's at war?
