Mr. Deeds

Audio problem: We establish that the manor Deeds stays at makes an echo when you shout or yell. Yet when Deeds slides down the banister and crashes into the table, his very loud yelling and the smashing into the table never produces an echo.

Continuity mistake: When Pam and Deeds are sitting at the water fountain, Pam's little camera appears and disappears a few times between shots. (00:46:10 - 00:48:25)

Audio problem: When Deeds is leaving Mandrake Falls, headed for New York, Anderson chucks a chicken out the plane and Deeds says to the chicken "Take it easy!" His mouth doesn't move correctly to this though. (00:12:40)

Continuity mistake: In the pizza place, Deeds is talking to Chuck, then there is a closeup of Murph cheering "Deeds, Deeds, Deeds!" When Murph cheers, he has a Budweiser in his left hand, yet when it changes to a wideshot his hands are empty. (00:08:05)

Continuity mistake: When Deeds walks into the big meeting and Chuck says he has no right to speak, Deeds say he has bought one share in Blake Media. Deeds is holding a piece of paper, and between shots, the way he holds the paper changes. (01:17:05)

Factual error: When we see Deed's Uncle being lifted off the summit of Mount Everest, you see him holding onto a very spiky and rocky summit. The summit is not like this at all. It is, in fact a much rounder shape, and not rocky. It is permanently covered in snow, therefore being something your body can get around and hold onto. (00:02:05)

Factual error: At the start of the film, when they are all climbing Everest, they are all seen without ski goggles. Without these, they would go snow-blind. This is only temporary blindness, but the climbers would have been more sensible than to not wear goggles, wouldn't they? (00:01:10)

Continuity mistake: When Deeds is in the pizza place before he finds out about his inheritance, Murph is standing there with him holding a blue Pepsi cup. It switches to Deeds then when it is back on Murph, he is holding a beer mug and he continues to hold this throughout the scene.

Continuity mistake: The cats falling from the burning building change color from the time the hit the trampoline to when they reach their final destination.

Other mistake: In the scene where Winona Ryder falls in the ice, she can't swim and she's flailing around and having trouble staying above water. But when Deeds runs down to her, all of a sudden, she's able to stay afloat for a minute or two before completely submerging under water.

Revealing mistake: After Deeds kisses Pam he walks on the sidewalk and jumps on garbage cans and falls. When he gets up you can see the stunt double.

Continuity mistake: Deeds hands Crazy Eyes the french fries and Oreo pizza in the box. The shot cuts to Cedar and Cecil for two seconds but when the shot cuts back to Crazy Eyes, the slice of pizza is already in his hand. No way could he have opened the box, took out the slice and have it in his hands in just two seconds. (00:11:45)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: After Freddy, the first cat, lands in Pam's arms, she yells, "Good throw, Deeds". In the following shot, before Deeds rescues the other cats from the fire, the policeman on the left can be seen holding and stroking a different cat. (00:49:50)

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: The second cat that Deeds rescues is a gray and black tabby with white paws, but when it is about to hit the catcher, it's turned into a ginger cat. When a man comes out of the manhole with the cat in his arms, it's a gray and white tabby with dark paws. (00:49:50)

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: When Deeds is rescuing the cats from the fire, one of them is all white, but after the last one, Fifi, emerges from the water bucket, a woman in the background can be seen holding a white cat with black ears and tail. (00:50:55)

Kylantha

Continuity mistake: When Deed rescues Coretta Keeling after saving all seven cats, in several shots a fireman can be seen holding a gray cat, which wasn't among the cats being rescued earlier. (00:51:00)

Continuity mistake: When Deeds is climbing up the pole to get to the woman's window because her flat is on fire, he puts his left leg on the top of the traffic light twice. (00:48:45)

Question: One of the entries stated that a helicopter can't hover over Mt. Everest. Why not?

Brian C Friesner

Chosen answer: Helicopter performance is dependent on a number of factors, including air density. As altitude increases, air density decreases and the performance of the helicopter falls as well. At the height of Mt Everest, the air density has fallen to a sufficient degree that most helicopters would be unable to function (few helicopters are capable of functioning above 20,000 feet, nine thousand feet lower than the summit of Everest).
