A lonely New York computer programmer, named Paul (Griffin Dunn), travels for a night out in SoHo for a date with a woman (Rosanna Arquette) that he barely knows, and runs into one mishap after another as he tries to get back home and encounters every weirdo and situation that grows more surreal and absurd by the minute.
