Continuity mistake: In one of the shots where Dave Stoller is chasing after the girl to return her notebook, we see him riding his bike in front of a building. In the next shot he is riding in front of the same building, going in the other direction.

After losing to the Italians, Dave reveals to Kathy that he is a Cutter. She slaps him and storms off. The day of the big race comes. Dave rides the Cutter team almost single-handedly to victory. Dave's father relents and cheers him on to victory from the sidelines. Even the college team are, in the end, forced to clap for the triumphant Dave.
