Audio problem: When Amy first gets into the semi, we can hear her talking to Red but her mouth isn't matching what she is saying.

Revealing mistake: There are no keys in the Jeep when we see the breakdown happen. You can see the steering wheel and where the keys should be. How is this car even moving? (00:08:05 - 00:08:35)

Continuity mistake: When Jeff and Amy run out of the barn and to the truck, there is an angle where it shows the sun already above the horizon, but then the same angle is shown seconds later with Billy chasing them and now the sun hasn't quite risen yet. This is out of sequence.

Character mistake: When Barr denies giving Jeff's wife a ride, Jeff says this was in the last half hour or so - but considering the time it would take the truck to go to Belle's (5 miles away), the wife to call a tow truck, back from Belle's, then Jeff waiting extra time, then fixing the jeep, heading to Belle's, the time he spent inside, then driving along the road until he saw the truck would in no way be only a half hour...more like an hour or two at best.

Suggested correction: Jeff is obviously in distress because he can't find his wife. Is it not possible that because of the stress he's under, the amount of time that has passed is different for him? Besides, we know the wife never made it to Belle's. Later, we see she's been transferred to another vehicle.

Continuity mistake: When Jeff goes to the washroom in the bank, there is a mop/broom handle leaning against the corner of the wall by the door. After he rummages through the cupboard looking for a weapon, the handle is gone.

Revealing mistake: When Kurt Russell is climbing the side of truck you can see a fence revealing that they are parked, even though wind is blowing to make it look like they are moving.

Earl: What a man needs out here is a CB radio.
Jeff Taylor: Is that right?
Earl: 'Course, if you use a CB, you gotta have a handle. I'm thinking for you, "Shit For Brains."

Question: When Kurt Russell gets pulled over by the sheriff, the sheriff gets shot and begins to radio dispatch. Dispatch then asks the sheriff what his 20 (location) is. Kurt Russell grabs the radio and also does not tell dispatch where they were, but dispatch says they are on the way. How can they be on the way if they don't know his location?

Answer: There's only one major road in and out of the town. They knew where the Sheriff was coming from (Red called in an accident out of town to get the Sheriff out of their hair). If they start driving along the road the Sheriff took to get back to town eventually they'll find him.

Answer: Jeff (Russell) may have thought that the sheriff already called in a location explaining why he didn't include it. He was not by the sheriff at the time the sheriff made the radio call - he ran up to him shortly afterwards.

Answer: There would be a tracker in the radio to let dispatch know exactly where the officer is.

GPS? RF frequency? No tracking on walkie-talkies in 1997.
