Suggested correction: Scrat may have got sucked up to the top.

Or squeezed all the way up and spat out. Either way Scrat is a much cartoonier character than the others and more extreme things happen to him.

Continuity mistake: The scene where Scrat is trampled you see the feet of a camel-like animal and the feet of a mammoth. When the camera pans up, the mammoth is nowhere to be seen. (00:03:23)

Other mistake: The scene where Manny builds his shelter, he is bothered by what Sid is saying and, after Sid asks him about his family, he turns around. The shelter that Manny has built is not large enough for him to turn around in it unless he walks out and turns around, which he does not do. (00:13:37)

Ice Age mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the movie, when Sid decides to return the baby, he starts trying to climb up the cliff. The baby falls out of the little sleeping bag. After that, we never see it until it's used in the plan to escape the saber-toothed tigers. Animals don't have pockets, and I don't remember seeing anyone carrying it around, so where was the sleeping bag in between these two times? (00:20:10 - 00:38:55)

Ice Age mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Scrat lands on the main road and is not stepped on for 16 seconds. During that time, not one animal passes by. Yet once he is stepped on, the animals pass by at 2 to 4 seconds each, and when the camera pulls back, you can see dozens of animals. Scrat should have been hit as soon as he landed. (00:03:25)

Ice Age mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Sid wakes up and finds out that his family has abandoned him again, a animal in the process of migrating is walking by him leaving no traces of anything. But when Sid takes his next step, he walks into some feces he claims belongs to the animal that just walked by him. But the animal did nothing at all, the feces wasn't even there to begin with. Ice Age mistake picture

Continuity mistake: At the part where Sid, Manny and Diego are at the "shortcut" Sid says "I choose life" and walks out of the shadow of the glacier thingies. In the next shot, the shadow is completely gone.

Continuity mistake: When Sid is climbing up the wall, he is having trouble at a metre above the ground, Manny starts to say something. Mid-sentence the shot goes back to Sid and he is twenty metres up. (00:20:35)

Deliberate mistake: When Scrat's coconut falls from the tree, it has already had its husk removed. The directors confirm this on the DVD commentary. They may have been worried that a lot of their audience would not recognise a coconut with its husk on. (01:11:45)

Ice Age mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Manfred, Sid and Diego decides to rest after having set up camp in a shelter; Sid, being right next to Diego to Diego's right, transitions from sitting to lying down, and in the next shot has disappeared. (00:57:25)

Other mistake: Even though it is snowing throughout much of the movie, none of the snow seems to stick to any of the characters' fur. Even during the fight scene when they are rolling around in it, they are never covered with white.

Sid: From now on, you'll have to refer to me as "Sid, Lord of the Flame."
Manfred: Hey, Lord of the Flame, your tail's on fire.

Question: In the beginning of the scene with the dodos, there is one dodo who shouts "Prepare for the ice age." Does anyone know who he is or what other movies he's been in? His voice is so familiar that I'm sure he's done another cartoon character's voice, but I can't remember who it is.

Answer: There are four people who do the voice for the dodos. They are Peter Ackerman, P.J. Benjamin, Josh Hamilton, and Chris Wedge (who also voiced Scrat and directed the movie). I checked their backgrounds, but I did not see any previous cartoons done by them. Also, of the four, it is possible you have seen Josh Hamilton or heard him before, because he has been in quite a few films, but I am not sure he is the one who voiced the dodo who said prepare for the ice age.
