Revealing mistake: The Batcave was a stage set with no real exit for the car. So when the car exits for the first time here, one shot is looking into the cave from the tunnel as the Batmobile approaches and passes to our right. Just before the shot ends, the rear end of the car jumps upward and tire skid marks appear on the floor as the driver slams on the brakes to avoid hitting the studio wall that is out of the shot, while the audio suggests the car is still accelerating. Revealing mistake: After leaving the Batcave for the first time, the Batmobile is shown from overhead, cruising down the road. It's painfully obvious the occupants are not Burt Ward and Adam West. (00:03:50)

Continuity mistake: When the Batmobile arrives on the pier, it's parked with its front end facing open ocean (against the orange contraption on the dock) and its tail toward dry land. But when Batman and Robin return and phone the Navy, the car has reversed direction (tail now against the contraption). It's not likely Batman would arrive back at the pier, start the car, turn it around, park in the same spot, shut the car off, reopen the doors and then make a call, only to then drive away. Visible crew/equipment: As the Batcoper emerges from its hangar, multiple crew and equipment are reflected in the cockpit's glass bubble. (00:04:05)

Batman mistake picture

Continuity mistake: As the Batmobile arrives at the pier, it turns into a parking space, one of two available between a green VW Beetle and a white station wagon. In the close-up as Batman and Robin exit the car, the spaces on both sides of the Batmobile are empty. Judging by the location of the "Moby Dick" sign at the edge of the pier, the white wagon has disappeared. (00:59:05)

Other mistake: When Batman is climbing the ladder and the shark has his leg, Batman works very hard at trying to place his radio back on his utility belt only to have it fall off.

Revealing mistake: When the Batmobile emerges from the Batcave for the first time, the guard rail lays down and the car turns toward our right, disappearing in a cloud of dust. Watching carefully reveals the dust is being kicked up because the car was over-accelerated by the stunt driver, and spun out, heading back into the roadside brush. (00:03:45)

Other mistake: If you look closely at the top left part of the screen, you can see Penguin hit Robin with the umbrella and turn to the zip line in a far shot of the fight. One shot later, just after Batman kicks a pirate off the side of the sub, the same act is repeated when the camera is focused on the two of them.

Revealing mistake: When Batman brings the Penguin to the Batcave the Batmobile skids to a stop on the gray floor. It then begins to rotate in the next shot and it's now on a black platform. When the Penguin emerges from the car and walks toward the rear of it, the platform is obviously gone. (01:06:10)

Other mistake: When Batman and Robin watch the Polaris missile being launched from Penguin's submarine, they are facing toward dry land, while the ocean is behind them. (00:29:50)

Deliberate mistake: When the fight first begins on deck of the sub, a henchman jumps from the hatch and picks up a wrench that was lying on deck. If the sub just surfaced, where did that wrench come from?

Continuity mistake: When the villains are checking to see if Batman and Robin were hit by the torpedo, one shot has the submarine itself surfacing but in the next shot only the periscope is above water.

Batman mistake picture

Revealing mistake: All the rear shots of the Batmobile in motion show flames emitted from the afterburner. But in the shot of it leaving the pier, the flames go out a few moments before the shot ends. The effects equipment failed or ran out of fuel. (00:30:40)

Revealing mistake: The swords and wrench used in the final fight were poorly made rubber items as they shake and bend whenever they hit something.

Revealing mistake: As Riddler is going overboard after being spun around by Batman with the deck gun, it's obviously a stunt double in green tights.

Movie Nut

Factual error: When Riddler's rocket hits the Batcopter, the villains are watching from the periscope as Batman and Robin are crashing. However, the image they see is a straight-on shot, as if the lens were right in front of the copter. No pre-atomic periscope can reach that far up.

Continuity mistake: Catwoman tosses her black cat onto the table, where it lands on an empty expanse of red carpet with nothing nearby. But in the next shot, there's a gold statue sitting within inches of the cat. (00:15:30)

Jean G

Audio problem: As the camera looks at the delegates, it gets to the Japanese man. What is heard in no way matches his mouth's movements. Also, the British representative can be heard speaking a second or two after disappearing.

Movie Nut

Batman: Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb.

Trivia: During the fight on the Penguin's sub a stuntman fell off and cracked his head open on the bottom of the water.

Question: What does Riddler sing just before the final fight on the sub?

Answer: The Riddler doesn't sing at all. He yells to the henchmen on board, "Prepare to repell boarders!" He does it in a almost musical way, true, but there's no song.
