Continuity mistake: When Ishmael is in bed watching Queequeg looking around his room, his head rotates between shots.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when the crew are in the boats going after Moby Dick, the sky changes throughout the entire scene. At moments it is sunny, then cloudy, then overcast.

Continuity mistake: During the first "Nantucket Sleigh Ride" with the very first whale harpooned, one of the three ships attached to the whale must cut their rope to save a man who falls overboard. In the following shot, there should only be two taught ropes attached to the whale, but there are still the original three.

Audio problem: Throughout the opening scenes, the innkeeper's lips are out of synch with his dialog due to a less-than-stellar job of overdubbing. The voice substituted for the original actor's belongs to director John Huston.
