National Lampoon's European Vacation

Question: What was up with the kissing of Kent Winkdale (the host) in the game show "Pig in a poke"?

Chosen answer: Kent was a parody of Richard Dawson and other classic game show hosts; Richard Dawson was well known (and somewhat notorious) for kissing all female contestants when he hosted "Family Feud" in the 1970s and 1980s.

Question: In the opening credits, Clark's passport has the name "Clark W Griswald" instead of Griswold. Was this just intended because Clark can never seem to do anything right, or even get it fixed when it's wrong? (like the Wagon Queen Family Truckster he ended up buying even though that's not the car he ordered...?).

Chosen answer: The answer could be any of those suggestions. It could also very well be a movie mistake. It's not uncommon for character names to be misspelled, either on some document or in the cast credits.
