Scarface

Continuity mistake: In the scenes after Omar is killed in the helicopter, Sosa and Montana are talking business gangster style. Montana's body shifts positions all the time as the cam cuts, one time he is standing with his arms akimbo, next he is bringing his hands to his hips, and all the time his body's angle is shifting.

Continuity mistake: When Tony leaves the bathroom in the motel scene, the bathroom light is on and it is bright. When he leans over Manny, the bathroom is now dark.

Continuity mistake: During the final shootout in Tony's mansion, the jungle-style magazines on Tony's M16 are constantly changing between shots, even when he's not reloading. This just goes to show how many takes were used for this last stand.

Continuity mistake: When Tony shoots the narcotics detective, the detective's gun disappears from his holster shortly before he is shot.

Continuity mistake: Angel is killed in the tub in the motel, but his body is not in there when shots of the tub are seen. Also, if the body were still in there, Tony and the other man would not be able to stand or move back and forth as easily as they did as they would be slipping and stepping on body parts.

Suggested correction: Well, the Colombians probably untied the body parts and tossed them aside so they could chain Tony up. But the parts aren't shown on screen because, well, the MPAA objected to these graphic images, thus the original X rating.

Continuity mistake: While Manny and Tony are working at the bar, before starting in the drug business, Tony has a towel over his right shoulder. Depending on the angle the towel covers part of his spine or it doesn't.

Sacha

Continuity mistake: At Tony's mom's house, as Gina is following Tony outside, from inside the house the window shade is halfway down, but from the outside it is all the way up.

Continuity mistake: During the shot of Freedom Town there is a resident in a distinctive brown patterned shirt that keeps passing by in the background of the shot with Tony. When Rebinga enters the camp the same person in the brown shirt is entering the camp with Rebinga, only with a pronounced limp.

qcomkid

Continuity mistake: When Shadow is shot, in one shot he's touching his face, but in the very next shot he's touching the detonator on his lap.

MikeH

Continuity mistake: As Tony chases Hector out of the hotel, a white handbag can be seen behind them on the pavement. Afterwards, once Tony shoots Hector, the bag is gone.

Visible crew/equipment: When the first deal goes wrong and the man with the chainsaw jumps out the window you can clearly see him land on a grey crash mat because it lifts up at the corners. (00:27:55)

Tony Montana: I kill a communist for fun, but for a green card, I gonna carve him up real nice.

Trivia: In the final scene when Tony's house is being raided, there is a moment where he attempts to grab a gun and then lets go immediately. What happened was that the gun was so hot, it actually burnt Al Pacino's (Tony) hand and he was unable to perform for about a week or two. That allowed director Brian DePalma to shoot the scenes of the shooters moving throughout the house.

Question: Was the double cross with the chainsaw scene a set up by F.Murray Abraham? Or was it a genuine deal and did he just suspect it may be dangerous, and sent Tony because he annoyed him?

The_Iceman

Answer: It's unlikely a set up. Tony is supplied with money and guns to defend himself. If this was a setup, the toad would've had more details. He would've known Tony had backup with guns and they would've waited to ambush them. Also makes no sense for Omar to put himself at risk without a legitimate opportunity to make cash. Frank knew about the deal as he supplied the buy money. Omar seemed loyal to Frank. Why would he send some low level thugs to be set up losing his boss' money in the process? All he would do is lose trust and be suspected.

Omar was an informant. He wasn't loyal to anyone. Omar's driver is the one that suggested to send Tony to the Colombians. And I think Omar knew the Colombians were shady, and that's why he sent Tony. It was, in a sense, a setup.

Chosen answer: While it is never really mentioned I think it is a safe bet that it was a double cross. F. Murray Abraham was seen later in the film to be an informant and killed because of it.

oddy knocky

It wasn't a double cross, as it was the driver of the car that suggested/whispered it to Omar the first time Omar met Tony and Manny outside the restaurant they were working at.
