Continuity mistake: When J.C. arrives at her new house, she takes Elizabeth out of the car and holds her under her left arm. In the next shot, she suddenly has her under her right arm.

Continuity mistake: The movie covers a period of at least a year, but the baby stays the same age throughout.

Continuity mistake: When JC and the baby arrive at the apartment for the first time, she drops the diapers at the inner doorway. In the next two minutes the diapers and the other items in the corner mover several times. (00:07:00)

Continuity mistake: When Diane Keaton plays the word association game with the baby she holds up picture of a doorknob. The next picture she states is a BMW however the back of this picture has the word ‘doorknob' on it. (Widescreen version). (00:47:50)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning narrative it describes JC as graduating from top of her class at Yale. However, when having her breakdown with the plumber she says she went to Harvard.

Suggested correction: Watch the opening scene again. She graduated first in her class at Yale and got her MBA (Master of Business Administration) at Harvard. She went to both schools.

Continuity mistake: During the diaper changing scene at first we see Elizabeth not wearing anything at all. Midway through the scene she's suddenly wearing a white shirt.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film, J.C. comes home to her daughter, Elizabeth. After she picks her up and takes her to the rocking chair, J.C. is about to sit down and crosses her legs. Then in the next shot, she's rocking the chair like she's been sitting there for a few minutes already.
