Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie, when the players are carrying Finch and the coach off the field, the scoreboard in the background is on, then off, then back on, over and over again with the different camera cuts.
Continuity mistake: When Woody Harrelson catches the ball he is black and he is also wearing gloves. But when he stands up after the play he is white with no gloves on.
Visible crew/equipment: The Wildcats have kidnapped the rival school's mascot goat, and Coach McGrath is the one to bring it back. When McGrath in her van alone with the goat, a hand is holding the goat's front leg, while it's between the two front seats.
Continuity mistake: Woody Harrelson is just demoted from starting quarterback. He mentions to Goldie Hawn that he makes a great slot back. The next scene is of a slot back making a great run, only the slot back is black. He gets tackled and when he gets up you see a very white Woody with the ball.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Finch blocks the field goal, they cut to the sideline and you can see Bird's number 11 jersey right behind Goldie Hawn, meaning that Bird is not in the game for that play. However, after Finch makes the block Bird is on the field, picking up the ball and running it in for the winning touchdown.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Finch blocks the field goal attempt, the center that snaps that ball is wearing gloves as he runs up to the line. When a closeup of him snapping the ball is shown, he is gloveless.
Continuity mistake: When they are having the party at the school and Mollie's daughter is there, it shows a black guy spiking the punch but on the next screen it is Mollie's daughter standing in front of the punch bowl.
Continuity mistake: When Goldie is racing the team around the track, Snipes' pants are filthy. As he rounds the track they are spotless.
Other mistake: The Jackson High Cougars goat mascot that McGrath must return is played by two different goats; note the goat's distinctive horns change, and its bell collar is buckled the opposite way.
Continuity mistake: The football players' uniforms change from black to white about halfway through the game season shots.
