Continuity mistake: When Simon is about to take a photo of Killian, Basila, Iniko and Laha, in the shot where Simon says "Let's take a photo", the camera is lowered slightly away from his face. When the shot cuts to a different angle, the camera is raised to be level with his face. (02:32:07)
Continuity mistake: When Simon is trying to stop Killian from getting buried, in the shot where he says "This man is innocent", Simon's left hand is grasping the lower arm of the man holding the torch. When the camera changes angles, Simon's left hand is suddenly grasping the man's shoulder. (02:18:37)
Continuity mistake: When Julia is about to leave her home, as she says "This is my home", Killian places his hand on her shoulder. When the camera changes angles, his hand has suddenly moved to her upper back. (02:21:24)
Continuity mistake: When Bisila is consoling the dead body in the hospital, at the end of one shot, she places her right hand on the man's face. When it cuts to a wider shot of the room, her right hand is on his chest. (02:11:31)
Continuity mistake: When Jacobo returns to the plantation in April 1964, Basila begins to walk back into the hospital. When she does this, Julia is touching both her hands. In the next shot, one of her hands is at her side. Then in the shot after that, she is touching both her hands again. (01:50:43)
Continuity mistake: Killian walks into a club and is greeted by a woman he knows. In the shot of the woman saying "On the other hand, you are a one-woman man", she is rubbing his shoulder with her right hand. In the next shot, her right hand is on his upper arm. (01:27:53)
Continuity mistake: In December 1963, whilst Julia and Manuel are talking, Killian is shown in the foreground of shot playing with the kid. When Julia is saying "With Gustavo in the council, we have a friend in the new party", Killian has his hand raised a foot or two above the ground whilst the kid drops some stuff into his hand. In the next shot, Killian's hand is much lower down to the ground. (01:46:20)
Continuity mistake: When the group of men leave the barn after threatening Clarence, Iniko is shown standing beside Clarence on her right. When the shot cuts, Iniko is suddenly standing on the opposite side of her. (01:21:18)
Continuity mistake: When Iniko takes Clarence into the barn, and he talks with Simon, Clarence begins putting some photographs back into her bag. In this shot, some of her ponytail can be seen going over the front of her right shoulder. Simon begins walking over to her and none of the ponytail can be seen over her shoulder. Simon attempts to talk to her and her ponytail is suddenly over her right shoulder again. (01:20:50)
Continuity mistake: When Killian and Ose reunite in 1957, Ose says "Come meet him" and proceeds to take Killian to meet Bisila's baby. In this shot, Killian has his hand placed on Ose's right shoulder, and Ose has his hand placed on Killian's back. In the next shot, Killian's hand is now placed on Ose's upper back, and Ose's hand is at his side. (01:26:16)
Continuity mistake: When Killian and Jacobo reunite in the club in 1957, gunshots are heard prompting everyone to duck. In the shot of Killian ducking, he is shown exiting the frame whilst the camera focuses on Jacobo. In the shot, we can see Jacobo's entire torso in frame, with no sign of Killian. The next shot, we can see Killian's head is level with Jacobo's chest, even though he wasn't standing that high up in the previous shot. (01:28:56)
Continuity mistake: When Clarence is sitting at a table in the nightclub, after everyone takes a drink, the straw in her glass is pointing to the left (from Clarence's POV), but in the next shot, the straw is suddenly pointing to the right. (01:10:26)
Continuity mistake: When Clarence starts taking pictures of the plantation, one of the people there says "Taking pictures is forbidden." Just after he finishes saying this, Iniko is standing right beside Clarence and begins to walk forwards. The shot then cuts and Iniko is suddenly standing several meters ahead of Clarence. (01:19:37)
Continuity mistake: When Clarence takes out her camera to take photos of the plantation, Iniko says "You're not allowed to take photos" to which Clarence replies "Garuz told me I can." In this shot, the camera is held in a position where the lens is pointed directly forwards. When the shot cuts, the camera is directly facing the ground. (01:19:30)
Continuity mistake: When Clarence is looking over the papers in the office, she picks up a Certificate of Tetanus Vaccination. In the close-up of the certificate, her right hand is touching the top right-hand side and her left hand is touching the bottom left-hand side, which she then moves to the middle of the bottom side. The next shot, her left hand is touching the top left side and her right hand is touching bottom right side. (01:04:42)
Continuity mistake: When Mama Sade confronts Clarence on the street, she has her hands extended so that they are positioned on both sides of Clarence's face. In the shot of her saying "Someone I knew a long time ago", her hands are right next to Clarence's face, but when the shot cuts, her hands are lowered away from Clarence's face. (01:09:00)
Continuity mistake: When Iniko is walking back to the car with Laha, in the shot of the two walking, Laha has his hand over Iniko's shoulder, which he then removes. It then cuts to a different angle with Clarence in the corner of frame, and Laha suddenly has his hand back around Iniko's shoulder again. (01:06:41)
Continuity mistake: When Clarence is holding a photo of her father whilst sitting at the airport, she puts down the other photos she is holding, so she can place both hands on the one photo. Then it cuts to a close-up of the photo where only her left hand is touching the photo, whilst her right is picking up another photo. (00:42:40)
Continuity mistake: Whilst Killian is whipping the black man, Ose runs up to him and holds his arm. In this shot, he is holding onto Killian's arm with both hands, but in the next shot, he is only holding onto Killian's arm with one hand. (00:48:47)
