Factual error: When the guy goes into the Royal Mail bus lot, gets in one of the bus and pops open the motor, you see NGK spark plug wires. NGK was not established until 1936 but the movie takes place in 1930. (01:16:00)

Factual error: The gang and friends are shown at a party to celebrate the success of the Eastcastle Street robbery. They are dancing to a "recording" of "Shake Rattle And Roll." The song was written and first recorded in 1954. (01:19:37 - 01:20:50)

Factual error: The Eastcastle Street postal van robbery of 1952 is depicted. The van used in the film was manufactured in 1956. (01:18:13 - 01:19:13)


Factual error: In 1940, Billy Hill is taken to gaol in a black Morris Commercial J Type van. Production of this model did not start until 1949. The actual van in the scene was made in 1957. (00:32:37)


Factual error: In 1940 3 of Alf White's men are arrested. As they are taken out of the pub they were in Alf and his son stand in the doorway. To their left (viewer's right) are posters for Floyd Patterson (who would have been aged 4 or 5 at the time) and the Platters (formed in 1952) and Lonnie Donegan (started performing 1949).
