Captain Marvel mistake picture

Continuity mistake: In the dream sequence at the beginning of the movie, Vers is looking at the bloodstained palm of her hand. It turns into the back of her hand immediately after - which could be fine especially in a dream/flashback scene, but the hand is also differently marked with the blue goo - in the POV shot her middle finger had barely a little spot on the pad, while in the following shot it has blood all over. Continuity mistake: Vers early in the morning the first day shows up at Yon-Rogg's door. Jude Law is rubbing his shoulder in the front view, while he has his fingers stretched behind his ear in the reverse shot. (00:02:15)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: During the flashback about the kart race, the protagonist gets passed by another vehicle, number 5. He gives her the sensible advice to slow down, which makes her accelerate. The kart is shown moving to the left and rear ending number 5, which is curious because she had already been passed by another kart in the meantime (driven by a guy with a green striped shirt) who is nowhere to be seen. He has number 3 and was dead last earlier. (00:14:55)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: In the flashback of her military training, when she lies flat on her back after falling from the rope, the shadow on Brie Larson's chest changes between shots. (00:15:40)

Continuity mistake: Vers KOs the Skrull she does the warcry thing at, and then another one on the corridor steps. She is then seen fighting from the perspective of the corridor to her right, but there are no Skrulls in sight against that door, while at least one was already lying down there. There are two when the camera gets back closer, and when she neutralizes the last one who bounces onto his own stun mace, there are again two, and she somehow got between the last one and the others. Continuity mistake: When Vers lands in the Blockbuster, the establishing shot of the street shows the cardboard cutout of True Lies facing the outside from the window (Jamie Lee Curtis on the left of Schwarzenegger). When Vers blasts it, it is facing her, so faces the inside of the store. (00:23:10)

Sammo

Other mistake: Vers enters the second escape pod. She crash lands on Earth, inside Blockbuster, at night. Somehow, the 4 Skrulls are shown later in the movie as landing together, and in broad daylight. That's nonsensical, considering Vers left behind an exploding ship, so they all left together. And one left even before she did (first escape pod). (00:23:10 - 00:25:00)

Sammo

Factual error: The movie is set in June 1995, based on the calendar at Rambeau's house, but some of the movies on the shelf at Blockbuster weren't released yet, like First Knight which only opened in theaters in July 1995, and wasn't released on VHS until in December. (00:24:00)

Other mistake: When Vers is using the payphone across from Blockbuster, the phone says it costs 25 cents for a call, but down below there is a big notice on the phone saying effective Nov. 1, 1995 the rate is going up to 25 cents. Trouble is it is June 1995, still five months before the rate change, and yet it already costs 25 cents. (00:25:40)

Factual error: Vers is on the 'phone' with her Kree crew from a public phone on the outside of a club with plenty of posters appropriate for the time period (Foo Fighters @The Fillmore, REM's tour for Monster, etc) but is also plastered with posters for "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness", a Smashing Pumpkins album which came out at the end of October of 1995, months later than when the movie supposedly takes place (June). Suggested correction: The poster is a promo. Previous to the album's release.

The album was still being recorded as of August of that year.

Sammo

Factual error: Chasing the Skrull who shot her from the top of the building, Vers jumps on the train. The station is marked both by the platform and by the sign shown as the train takes off, as Douglas Station. When the chase started though, Surfer Dude Skrull was parkouring on a rooftop where you could see in the vicinity the Wells Fargo bank tower from NoHo. That would have been over a 20 mile pursuit on foot. (00:29:25)

Sammo

Deliberate mistake: The Stan Lee cameo contains a factual error; he's checking out of the Mallrats script and rehearses his lines, but despite coming out later in the year, the movie (and therefore Lee's cameo) had already been filmed, since movie shooting ended in April. Unless we have to assume Stan Lee carried with him all the time scripts of movies he'd been in and randomly read his scenes aloud. (00:30:45)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Vers throws the old lady against the roof of the train, the guy with a sleeveless shirt next to the guy making funny faces keeps switching position between shots, between cowering in fear behind his newspaper and having the newspaper hand down against the armrest. (00:31:25)

Sammo

Factual error: Check out when Vers is about to exit the train car after the Skrull is so kind to show her their new form. The man on the left of the frame is reading the September 1995 issue of Men's Health, a couple months too early considering the date of the movie. (00:32:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Coming out of the train, Vers moves through the crowd. She passes by the same person with a petrol windbreaker, reading a newspaper. She moves past him but he's still in front of her in the next shot. (00:33:40)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Vers grabs the man with the purple sweater at the station, she lowers her punching arm in the view from behind, but she still has her arm up ready to hit him in the following shot. (00:33:45)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: As Vers is about to punch the person dressed like the Skrull, a woman in a flowery pantsuit is visible in the background, behind him. Next shot and she is walking behind Vers making a rather conspicuous horrified facepalm, and coming from the wrong direction. (00:33:50)

Sammo

Factual error: The internet cafe Vers visits runs a piece of software even more cutting edge than the brand new, still beta version of Windows 95; Netscape Navigator 4, a release from 1997 - certainly not 1995, when it still had very squared highly recognizable buttons and icons of a different color than those portrayed here. (00:35:15)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Vers gives the stinkeye to the biker guy who complimented her suit by folding a corner of the Los Angeles map. It's folded differently in the two shots: in the first there's a portion at least twice as wide that comes down with her hand, while in the second it's just the corner, the rest being almost straight. (00:35:35)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When the doctor asks Fury "How's your eye?" he turns towards him twice in two separate shots. (00:36:20)

Sammo

Nick Fury: I know a renegade soldier when I see one. Never occurred to me that one might come from above.

Trivia: In the Blockbuster, Danvers blasts a standee of True Lies. The directors' first choice of standee was actually The Mask (which makes sense, being a green-skinned character who she'd rightly think was a Skrull and attack), but New Line Cinema refused to allow it.
