Continuity mistake: Thanos reaches down and picks up Thor by the collar of his uniform. Thor is facing head first with his back parallel to the floor. Thanos lifts him and walks towards Loki. In the next shot of Thor he is now sitting upright and Thanos has his hand on top of his head. (00:02:22 - 00:02:54)
Continuity mistake: In the close up shots of Thor when Thanos has his hand on him there is blood coming out of his mouth. In the long shots though there is no blood. (00:02:54 - 00:04:04)
Continuity mistake: Thor says "You talk too much" whilst Thanos has his hand grabbing Thor's head. Thanos' fingers are close together on one side, with his thumb holding the other side. Two shots after, when Thanos asks Loki for the Tesseract, Thanos' fingers are spread apart. Two shots after that, when Thanos says "Or your brother's head", his fingers are suddenly close together again. (00:02:55)
Continuity mistake: When Loki reveals the Tesseract to Thanos, the first shot shows him holding it against his fingertips raised above his palm, but when Thor tells Loki he really is the worst brother, the Tesseract is now being held in his palm. Also, when Thanos tells Loki his optimism is misplaced, the Tesseract is still being held in his palm, but when the shot cuts, it is now being held against his finger tips raised slightly above his palm. Continuity mistake: When Tony is talking with Pepper, she unties Tony's sleeves from around his shoulders when she points out the unit on his chest. The sleeves are hanging over Tony's shoulders in the wideshot as he says, "I'm just trying to protect us," but when it cuts to the closeup the sleeves have vanished, between shots. (00:12:20)
Continuity mistake: Thanos' ship is near the ground in New York but seconds later when Peter senses it, the ship is higher, at building level. (00:18:10)
Suggested correction: The two events aren't happening in real time. It's clear Peter sees the ship before it gets close to the ground.
Continuity mistake: When Peter sees the ship whilst he is on the school bus, he taps Ned on the shoulder and asks him to make a distraction. When he taps Ned on the shoulder, Ned has earphones in both ears, and one of the earphones falls out when Peter taps him, whilst the other earphone remains in his ear. But in the next shot, neither of his ears has an earphone in them. (00:18:25)
Continuity mistake: In New York after Bruce tries to become Hulk, in one shot there's a minor mud stain on his shirt, then the angle changes and it's suddenly a massive brown splat. (00:22:15)
Continuity mistake: When Doctor Strange attempts to use the Time Stone on Ebony Maw, Maw ties up Strange telepathically and strangles him unconscious. Beside Strange is a police car and a motorbike tipped on its side. Maw then lifts the ground he is lying on, but the police car has been replaced by an SUV and the motorbike has disappeared. The shadows also change. (00:23:25)
Continuity mistake: The blanket used by Thor on the Guardians' ship moves several times between shots. (00:32:55)
Continuity mistake: When Black Widow stabs Corvus Glaive, she kicks him to the ground and he drops his weapon, with the weapon landing beside him. Proxima Midnight then runs up to Black Widow and Captain America picks up Corvus Glaive's weapon, but it is now much further away from him. (00:41:05)
Continuity mistake: In the flashback to Gamora's planet while Thanos is walking beside Gamora, Ebony Maw disappears in the open view. (00:43:20)
Continuity mistake: Just after Tony realises Drax isn't listening to him, Star-Lord tells Tony not winging it isn't really what they do. In this shot, Tony is looking at Star-Lord. Spider-Man asks what exactly is it that they do, and Tony is suddenly looking at Spider-Man, then Mantis says "Kick names, take ass" and Tony is suddenly looking at Drax and Mantis. (01:22:25)
Continuity mistake: On Titan, when Tony begins speaking with Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Drax and Mantis, in the shot where he says "We gotta coalesce", Spider-Man is standing a few feet away from Tony and is facing him, but in the next shot, Spider-Man is suddenly standing closer to Tony and is now facing the others. Continuity mistake: Whilst they are discussing the plan on Titan, just after Star-Lord tells Tony to not call them plucky, the shot cuts to Tony turning his head to Star-Lord. In this shot, Tony and Star-Lord are positioned around 90° rotated from each other, but in the next shot, the two are suddenly facing each other directly. (01:22:55)
Continuity mistake: When the armies are approaching the barrier in Wakanda, in the shot where M'Baku is first chanting with his army, T'Challa is approaching him and Captain America, Black Widow and Bucky are a couple of feet next to him. When they stop, Captain America is standing ahead of Black Widow. It then cuts to T'Challa saying "Thank you for standing with us", and Captain America, Black Widow and Bucky are now side by side. Continuity mistake: When Groot creates a handle for the axe with his arm, he chops off the arm and it lands on the ground. The sharp end is facing to the right when it lands, but when it begins to lift, the sharp end is now facing to the left. (01:44:20)
Continuity mistake: When Thor, Rocket and Groot begin charging towards the army after arriving in Wakanda, the shot from behind them shows Rocket and Groot running slightly behind Thor. Then it cuts directly to a shot in front of them, just before Thor jumps into the air, and Rocket and Groot are now further back. (01:45:50)
Continuity mistake: When Thanos brings Vision back to life using the Time Stone, Thanos is standing a couple steps away from him after bringing him back. Wanda then tries to stop him, and it cuts to a wide shot where he suddenly is a couple of steps closer with his hand suddenly around Vision's neck. Thanos then pushes her with his other hand and in the next shot, Thanos is then reaching to put his hand around Vision's neck even though he was just shown with his hand around Vision's neck already.
