Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Continuity mistake: During the opening scene with Ego and Quill's mother, they run into the woods behind the Dairy Queen, and mom is wearing boots with fur trim. When they get to where the Ego's plant is in the ground, she is suddenly wearing sandals.

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when the guardians are getting ready to fight off an interdimensional being Rocket winks a couple of times at Starlord. Starlord then responds but is looking to his left at Rocket, whilst Rocket is on his right side. The scene is for no reason mirrored, proven by the big orange device behind him also switching from being on his left to on his right. (00:03:45)

Continuity mistake: In the scene early in the movie where Kurt Russell and Star Lord's mother walk in the woods behind the Dairy Queen, she has on boots with fur tops as they walk down the hill, and has sandals on while standing in the clearing near the god plant.

Continuity mistake: When Pete is holding his hands out, as per Ego's instructions, the orientation of his hands changes. Initially, his thumbs are roughly at the top, but when the camera angle changes, they are at the side. No time has passed, and Ego didn't tell him to change anything.

Continuity mistake: While Yondu is explaining how he tracked the Milano, and who sent him and why, look at the 3 arrows pinned to Yondu's jacket when he first appears. Once he starts his walk around while explaining, there are only 2 arrows. After the scene returns from Nebula and baby Groot, the shot seems to be mirrored, with the three arrows in a different position. (00:40:15)

Peter Quill: This is weird. We've got a Sovereign fleet approaching from the rear.
Gamora: Why would they do that?
Drax: Probably because Rocket stole some of their batteries.
Rocket: Dude!
Drax: Right... He didn't steal some of those. I don't know why they're after us. What a mystery this is.

Trivia: During the end credits, "I am Groot" appears throughout. The phrase will then shift to reveal the "translation", usually someone's name.

Question: Given there's only a few months between this movie and the previous one, that means it's set around 2014 vs. Infinity War being set in 2018, as best anyone can figure. Is there any official word on what the Guardians are up to in the intervening 4 years?

Jon Sandys

Chosen answer: Short answer: Probably nothing much good. In all that time Quinn still felt like a reaver, and Rocket doesn't deny he likes crime. Only Gamora keeps them at bay from doing anything really nasty. In the mean time they try to do good things, protect planets, hunt pirates, stuff like that. It's a crazy bunch of individuals.

Answer: They're mercenaries, like we see with the Sovereign. They do good things for money. We see this with the Sovereign, and Quill's comments make this seem like this is normal. Later, Rocket makes a comment about raising their prices. In Infinity War, they only respond to the Asgardian distress call because they expect to be paid.
