Corrected entry: In the scene when Diane is confessing to her father that she slept with Lloyd, her clothing and hair completely change three times.

Correction: I just watched that scene - her hair stays in the same do, and her shirt stays the same (sweater off both shoulders) the whole time.

Corrected entry: In the famous scene where Lloyd is holding up the boombox to communicate through music with Diane, he is parked at the end of a long driveway with picnic tables under old trees. Both the front of her house and the old age home were shown at other points in the film and neither looks anything like where he is standing.

Correction: That's because he's at the back of her house.

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the movie, at the graduation, it is said that they go to Lakeview High School. But when Lloyd's on the phone with Diane he says Lakeside.

Correction: Haven't you ever been nervous during a conversation, especially when asking a woman out? Lloyd was nervous and mistakenly said "Lakeside" instead of "Lakeview". This is not a mistake. It just demonstrates how nervous he is while talking to Diane.

Corrected entry: Lloyd calls Diane to tell her "congratulations on your fellowship, I read about it in the paper", which Diane and her father have just heard about the fellowship an hour before. There's no way he could have known.

Correction: When Diane's dad answers the phone he says that he didn't get the letter. So it's very possible that the fellowship has been announced for quite some time and this was a follow up call because they hadn't heard from them. The announcement didn't have to have been put in the paper by Diane or her father.

Factual error: When Diane visits her father in prison, she hands him a pen, but visitors in prison are very closely searched - no way could a visitor give a prisoner a pen of any kind (they're contraband for prisoners as they can be used as weapons), let alone a heavy pen like that one. Even if he were in a minimum-security prison (which his orange jumpsuit seems to indicate he's not) this rule would still apply.

Lloyd Dobler: Why can't you be in a good mood? How hard is it to decide to be in a good mood and be in a good mood once in a while?"
Constance: Gee, it's easy.
