Juntao is actually Counsellor Han's friend (The BRITISH GUY in the beginning) and Jackie and Chris rescue the kidnapped girl (Counsellor Han's daughter) and they both jet off for a 6-week vacation in Hong Kong.

Continuity mistake: When the young Chinese girl is kidnapped, while in the car, her tie is on. When she tries to fight the guy her tie is off in one shot, then back on again a few seconds later. There is also no blood after the first shot, but when the shooter opens the back door, there is blood on Soo Yung's face, but mid fight, the blood is missing, and again blood is present when she runs out. Captain Diel: Two officers were shot, one man lost a pinkie.
Carter: But didn't nobody die.
Captain Diel: You destroyed half a city block.
Carter: That block was already messed up.
Captain Diel: And you lost a lot of evidence.
Carter: We still got a little bit left.
Trivia: Towards the end, where Soo Yun is reunited with her father outside of the museum, there is a news van in the background. The call letters on the van start with W, which is typically reserved for television and radio stations in the eastern U.S. with few exceptions. In the western U.S. of course, the calls typically start with a K. There is no "W" station currently broadcasting in Los Angeles.
Question: When Griffin is revealed to be Juntao, he reveals that all of the artifacts once belonged to him. If they were his, then how did Consul Han manage to get them? Wouldn't it be considered stealing, since they were actually Griffin's?

Answer: Many countries, including China, have laws regarding confiscation of proceeds of crime or criminal forfeiture of assets. When the Chinese government took control of Hong Kong, they seized Juntao's assets including drugs, weapons and the collection of artworks under such laws.
