He first has three fingers and a thumb, then after a brief shot of the water, he has four fingers and a thumb. He switches back to three fingers and a thumb a few shots later.

Revealing mistake: After the jailbreak, a number of reaction shots for which the shot background is the villagers in the speeding wagon, not only do they not "bounce" with the wagon, they are not even animated.

But since it approached from an angle, there's no way it could split it right the way down the length of it.

Suggested correction: This is not a continuity mistake. Earlier in the film, Prince John's crown becomes damaged by crashing through an iron gate with the guards. You can see the crown is crooked and bent. The three smaller gems on the crown are actually one of the large gems broken as a result of crashing through the gate.

Revealing mistake: Just before the archery contest, the Elephants play their trumpet sounds. Both the times they play it, you can notice that the same scene has been used twice.

Hiss: A perfect fit, Sire! Looks most becoming! You look regal, dignified, sincere, masterful, noble.
Prince John: Don't overdo it, Hiss.

Trivia: The characters of Prince John and King Richard are based on real people. Their mother, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, really did prefer Richard over John and all her other children (although John didn't really lapse into fits of whining and sucking his thumb.) John eventually became king after Richard's death.

More trivia for Robin Hood

Question: When Robin Hood jumps into the water near the end of the movie, how did he survive the guards shooting arrows at him? Going underwater doesn't protect you from getting hit by arrows. Arrows can go deeper underwater than bullets can since they have more mass, even though they don't go as fast.

Answer: An arrow may have more mass, but it is also far less dense. Both the shaft and the fletchings will float. As well, these are not full powered English longbows, but shortbows, designed to be used at close range and without the same penetrating power. You can see many videos on Youtube about how arrows will not go deep.
