Other mistake: When all of the raptors look at Owen from the perspective of their head mounted cameras, they are all looking at him from roughly the same angle, despite being a distance from each other. (01:34:05)

Plot summary
Directed by: Colin Trevorrow
Starring: Vincent D'Onofrio, Judy Greer, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson
Twenty two years after Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) caused the disaster at John Hammond's (Richard Attenborough) Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, the Jurassic World theme park has been built. Jurassic World has many different dinosaurs, including Brachiosaurs, Triceratops, Velociraptors, a Mosasaurus, and Rexy (Jurassic Park's original Tyrannosaurus Rex), among other species. The Jurassic World staff have been trying to avoid a repeat of Dennis Nedry's evil actions of shutting down the security systems by having a decent number of staff members and security in the new control room.
Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) runs Jurassic World's daily operations. Claire has invited her nephews Zach and Gray to the park, and assigns her assistant Zara (Katie McGrath) to guide them, but they ditch her and explore the park on their own. They visit the Jurassic World lagoon and watch the staff feed the Mosasaurus a Great White Shark. Owen (Chris Pratt) has established a bond with a pack of Velociraptors, particularly the leader, Blue. The late John Hammond's company, InGen, owns Jurassic World. Their scientists have created a new dinosaur hybrid called the Indominus Rex, which has left claw marks on the wall next to the gate of her enclosure, leading Owen and Claire to believe she escaped. The Indominus Rex eventually does escape, killing several dinosaurs and staff members. After Claire has all the guests brought to the Visitor Center, Zara tells her Zach and Gray ran off. While riding a Gyrosphere and watching Stegosaurs, Zach and Gray are chased by the Indominus Rex and escape into the jungle. They discover the ruins of the original Jurassic Park Visitor Center, now reclaimed by nature.
Zach and Gray start up a 1992 Jeep Wrangler in the garage and drive off just before Owen and Claire enter the garage. Before Owen and Claire can start the second Jeep, the Indominus Rex enters the garage, nudging the Jeep while trying to get them. They are chased by the Indominus Rex and barely escape her. The Indominus Rex crashes through the aviary, releasing the Pterosaurs. The Pterosaurs then fly over Main Street, attacking the guests. Zara finds Zach and Gray, but a Pterosaur grabs Zara and drops her into the Jurassic World lagoon. Another Pterosaur attempts to eat Zara, but the Mosasaurus attacks the Pterosaur, eating Zara in the process.
Eventually, after the villain Vic Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio) uses the Raptors to hunt the Indominus, the final battle takes place on Main Street. Hoskins wants to use the Raptors and the Indominus Rex for his own evil purposes, but is killed by one of the Raptors in the Visitor Center. The Indominus kills most of the Raptors except Blue. Claire has Rexy released from her paddock and lures her into a battle against the Indominus Rex. Rexy gets some good hits on the Indominus, but the Indominus overpowers Rexy. Just as the Indominus is about to kill Rexy, Blue attacks the Indominus, allowing Rexy to start fighting again. Rexy and Blue team up against the Indominus Rex, driving her to the edge of the lagoon, where the Mosasaurus grabs the Indominus Rex and drags her to the bottom of the lagoon to her death. Rexy and Blue walk off in separate directions. Jurassic World is evacuated and ultimately closed and left to the dinosaurs. Rexy walks onto the helicopter pad overlooking Jurassic World and roars.

Question: If all of the base DNA for the dinosaurs in the park was obtained from dino-blood inside mosquitoes, where did they get the DNA for the Mosasaurus from? A flying blood-sucking insect would not come into contact with a sea dwelling dinosaur, and there are no amber-equivalents in the ocean to trap any sea based blood suckers.
Chosen answer: The scientific inaccuracy of the mosquitoes/DNA notwithstanding, at the end of the film the Mosasaurus surfaces at the edge of its pool in order to drag in the Indominus Rex. Assuming the Mosasaurus did the same thing to catch prey in its own time period, it's feasible a mosquito could have landed on its body and extracted some blood in that short amount of time, especially if the prey was putting up resistance.
And a mosquito would always be in that area and be keen on getting blood from that particular dinosaur? Plus, it didn't take much for the Indominus to be taken down since the Mosasaurus is kind of a big creature, so how hard would it be for other animals to be taken down as well? Added, the Mosasaurus was being fed a shark when we first meet it; it's not like it was hunting on its own in an enclosed area.
Mosquitoes are everywhere, so it's not a matter of convenience that one would be in the same area and being keen on going after that particular animal. Plus, I just pulled up the scene on YouTube and it takes close to 10 seconds for the Mosasaurus to drag the Indominous Rex to its doom, which is plenty of time for a mosquito to land on it and extract blood. And as I stated in the answer, the explanation of DNA being harvested from preserved mosquitoes is scientifically inaccurate anyway, so even a tenuous explanation of how a mosquito would get that animal's blood is no more tenuous than dinosaurs being brought back to life in the first place.

Answer: And what about just digging for bones for the Mosasaurus? I think this was said somewhere-although I can't remember where so apologies if I'm wrong-but I think Dr. Wu mentioned something about it, so I'm sure they could've gotten DNA WITHOUT getting the blood from a mosquito. It sounds possible in my opinion.
