Continuity mistake: When Nicolas Cage aka Frank Walsh first shoots a blow dart at Kevin Durand aka Richard Loffler he hits him in the left shoulder. Ten seconds later Kevin he pulls the dart out of his right shoulder. (01:23:15)
Continuity mistake: During the credits, Amaia Salamanca kisses her girlfriend cupping her face with her fingers that change position between shots. (00:02:30)
Continuity mistake: In the prologue, the Nazis storm the Bresson residence. The elder Professor Bresson is sitting at his desk, back turned to them. There's an open fountain pen next to him, right by a paper sheet, but when Bresson answers rather defiantly to the bad guys, the paper sheet suddenly has disappeared. (00:02:15)
Other mistake: Throughout this, a running gag is that Fred can't drive stick/clutch. However, in "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" Series 2, Episode 6 "A Scooby-Doo Halloween," he yells at Shaggy that he's riding the clutch too hard at the beginning of the episode. If the Mystery Machine has a clutch mechanism, he would know how to drive stick/clutch.
Continuity mistake: Ray is speeding on the road that he previously traveled very cautiously. He is engaged in a tricky overtaking of 4 vehicles in a row. In the side view close-up he is overtaking the sedan, but after the close-up on the speed meter that is going past 80, he has yet to pass that same car, since the car before that was a SUV. Other mistake: Jethro said to Brian, "Shall I tell you how I know you're lying? Because when you said that, you looked up to your left." However, Brian looked to his right and Jethro even pointed to Brian's right when he was telling Brian that he looked to his left. (00:56:00)
Continuity mistake: The amount of blood on 10-year-old Miguel's face and neck after his "jump in" is not consistent. Sometimes there is more (or less) blood on his cheeks and neck and sometimes it appears splattered compared to large areas diluted with blood. The intensity/color of the blood also changes - sometimes it is very red but other times it is paler. The cut on his left eyebrow apparently was not on the far left corner yet sometimes the blood started there; other times, the blood started almost to the middle of his eyebrow. Sometimes he has blood below his eyebrow. Despite all the blood on his face and neck (down to the sagging T-shirt), there is no blood on his white or light grey T-shirt. He also does not get any blood on his jacket. Miguel was repeatedly punched then kicked by several large, muscular adult gang members for 13 seconds (to become a member of the MS-13 gang) but is unrealistically able to get right up then go and pick up and carry his dog - with no limping or signs of pain. Plot hole: SPOILER ALERT! During the final fight, Joey kills Frank and she reverts back to human form. Abigail tells her she's fine, because Frank was the one who turned her. However, when Frank kills Lambert he does not revert back to human form, even though Lambert was the one who turned him.
Suggested correction: Because it was too late for Frank, who had already turned, Joey hadn't.
If that were the case, then why would Abigail bother explaining to Joey why she reverted back to human form?
Other mistake: When the characters go to the Himalayas, the whole time, like for 20 mins, including the confrontation scene, they are all wearing casual, short-sleeved shirts. You can see Mr. Burnish's henchmen wearing winter clothing, while the main characters don't freeze to death. They only start getting cold after a long time.
Factual error: In 1915 Tolkien was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant with the Lancashire Fusiliers. He (plus various other officers) is constantly shown in the film wearing bright metal cap badge, collar badges and shoulder titles on his Service Dress tunic and greatcoat. However, in the Lancashire Fusiliers officers did not wear shoulder titles on their SD tunics/greatcoats, and their cap/collar badges would have been in a darkened bronze finish, not bright metal (which was for Other Ranks and NCO's).
Continuity mistake: The cigarette the homeless man offered to Frank had a brown filter but was white when Frank had it in his mouth. (00:39:10)
Factual error: Drinking a juice box in 1977. They didn't appear in the US until 1980.
Revealing mistake: After most of the people trying to hang onto other people holding onto the ascending helicopter fell off, a downward view from the helicopter showed a man effortlessly hanging onto the landing skid and a woman just as effortlessly grasping his jacket's shoulder. (00:02:50)
Factual error: During the opening credits, Alec Baldwin and Selma Hayek are driving back to New York. They pass by various buildings, one shot being entirely devoted to a dilapidated Blockbuster video store. That shot must have been archive footage from the UK, since you can see the realtor sign by it, and it's from Carter Jonas, a London based firm, and gives an 01962 phone number (Windsor).
Continuity mistake: The tassel on Molly's graduation cap disappears at the end of her speech, then reappears later.
Factual error: The protagonist wakes up supposedly at 5 AM of December 2nd in New York City. Outside, the sun is shining, almost two hours too early. (00:00:15)
Continuity mistake: After Wesley has intimidated the snot bully, he comes back home and finds the police. Sitting at the table, his mom holds his arm and says "Wesley, Mr. Chambers asked you a question." Mary Elizabeth Winstead has her right arm on the table, close to her body. Change of angle and she is holding the coffee mug instead. (00:45:10)
Other mistake: Judy is singing on stage with some showgirls. She is singing into a wired microphone. At the end of the song she twirls around twice, but the microphone does not appear to get wrapped around her. (00:49:35)
Continuity mistake: Higinio emerges from his hideout to strangle with the measuring tape the man who is raping his wife. During the scene, the tape is above or below the shirt's collar and with a dangling loose end coming and going. (01:02:20)
Continuity mistake: The spacing (almost touching versus several inches apart) and appearance (shape and whether there are shoots) of the two flowers in the vase on Estelle's/Betty's table at the restaurant vary. Sometimes, the flowers on her table look more like the ones that could be seen on the table in front of hers after Brian/Roy entered the restaurant. (00:03:40)
