Best romance movie mistakes of 2011
Continuity mistake: After meeting Elise on the bus and getting his Blackberry dumped into his coffee David Norris calls his friend Charlie with his "spare phone" (silver). But after a cut or two you can see that he uses his BlackBerry again. So he has changed the phone during the conversation AND his coffee BlackBerry seems to be working again.
Factual error: When Aston Kutcher is getting the first text from Natalie Portman, you can see his iPhone is showing June 12 on the lock screen as the current date. The text from Emma have also a date of "06/12/10" next to it within Messages app. On iPhone, the texts received on the same day should only show time at which message arrived, and not a date.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Griffin is marketing the yellow sports car to a customer in the dealership, he laughs out loud while fooling around in one shot, and as the camera changes, his face is straight, and when it changes to the previous camera, he is laughing and fooling around again.
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Rachel enters that bar and is welcomed with the surprise party, Darcy comes and puts a colorful necklace around Rachel's neck. In the next shot, Rachel doesn't have the necklace anymore and Darcy is putting it once again around Rachel's neck.
Other mistake: Jacob takes Cal shopping. In the shot during which Jacob says to Cal "the skin under your eyes is starting to look like Hugh Hefner's ball sack," the film is flipped and the viewer is watching a reverse (or mirror) image. This is revealed principally by the fact that the emblem on Cal's Polo shirt is on the right side of his chest as opposed to his left.

Factual error: During scenes set in the early Noughties (one of Dex and Emma talking on a rooftop at night, and another of Dex crossing the river on a bus), modern buildings are shown on the skyline, including the Heron Tower (2009), the tallest building in the City at the time of filming, but it didn't exist at the time the scene is set.
