Continuity mistake: In the desert, throughout the chase scene between the black SUVs and the taxi, the damage on the front bumper constantly changes. It 'fixes' itself several times, most notably on the left side. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: When the kid holds the bible out for Esther in the hallway, in one shot the kid is holding it with one hand, then with 2 when Esther grabs it. (00:32:50)
Other mistake: When the mayor is talking behind the chainlink fence, with Brent in the background eating sardines, you can see as the mayor grabs the fence, his thumbs clip through the fence wire. This occurs on both hands and easily visible, particularly when Mayor Shelbourne says, "Otherwise, I'm just a tiny mayor of a tiny town full of tiny sardine-sucking knuckle-scrapers." (00:10:52)
Suggested correction: I watched this movie a million times and the mayor's thumbs are not going through the fence.

Revealing mistake: After Chuck steps on the toy duck, he looks up to see the alien family and their house behind them. However, there is no reflection of this on his visor, just an empty field and the trees beyond.
Continuity mistake: At the very beginning, as Ana is running away with the Nano warheads with Duke following, she is first holding the case in her right hand. Cut to a shot in front of her and the case is now in her left hand. It is back in her right hand in the next shot. (00:12:10)
Continuity mistake: In the carnivorous plant scene, Manny grabs the fruit (the bait), which is sitting in the middle of the plant. In the next few shots, the bait disappears and then is replaced with a bulb that housed the red and blue "wires".
Continuity mistake: At the very beginning, when Quaid has finished showering and is picking his phone, wallet, badge, keys, etc, there is a shot of his hand as it is picking up his cellphone. Cut to a wide shot of him and the objects have moved. Continuity mistake: When John is decoding the numbers for the first time, he uses a whiteboard. On the whiteboard are, presumably, spelling words for Caleb. He erases some of these to make room for the numbers. In the various shots of this scene, words disappear and reappear continuously, often written slightly different.
Continuity mistake: When Simone has a go at Hoffman in the hospital, someone puts their hand on her shoulder. Camera cuts and the hand has gone. (00:16:00)
