Best fantasy movie mistakes of 1998
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Charlie and the snowman (his dad) are getting chased by the bullies, the sled gets split in half into two sled pieces. But you can clearly see, that in some parts of this scene, Charlie is riding a real snowboard, and some parts, he is riding the half piece of sled.
Continuity mistake: When Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are getting ready to bring back Nicole Kidman's jerk boyfriend from the dead, they are going to put him on a counter that has towels and other stuff on it. The camera shows them picking him up and putting him on the counter, and when they do, the towels and stuff are all gone, without them clearing it off.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Sabrina and Paul are sitting at a table in a cafe, when the camera is on Sabrina's face, behind her seems to be a perfectly dry and generally sunny day in Rome, but when the camera is on Paul, behind him shows people walking around with umbrellas and the ground is very wet.
Continuity mistake: When Jacquouille gets frightened by the television set, he throws a statue in it, making the TV set explode. The blankets placed over the couches as well as various objects are sucked into the set. In the next shot, the couch right in front of the TV is still covered by its blanket, which disappears in the following shot.

Continuity mistake: When Marcia Gay Harden is doing the final preparations for the party that night, she and Anthony Hopkins have a dialogue where they talk about favorites and children. Towards the end of the dialogue, she hugs him and the watch on her wrist says something like 10am. A minute later she hugs him again and the watch now says 12:25.
Factual error: In the opening narrative about the first person to call out "America", as the ship passes the Statue of Liberty, it's traveling in the wrong direction - with the Statue entering the screen from the viewer's left and moving toward the right; a direction that would have taken the ship from Manhattan to Staten Island (or through the Straits into the Atlantic).
Visible crew/equipment: Just after Tarzan goes under the stone door, he finds the torches dropped by the bad guys. The flame from one of the torches is reflected in the camera lens, and was caught on tape. It looks like a single, unattached flame is hovering on the stone wall nearby. This is made even better when Tarzan picks up the torch and then drops it, the reflection follows his movements precisely.
Revealing mistake: You can tell all shots in the parallel world where there is writing visible are simply regular shots being reversed because Molly Ringwald's watch and ring, which she wears on her left arm and hand, suddenly are on her right arm and hand. Especially obvious in the scene where she goes over work papers with Sandy.
