Best action movie mistakes of 1996
Continuity mistake: Arnold goes to the gay bar to solicit the help of the guy he saved at the beginning of the movie. The guy is wearing a white shirt and a vest black/gold lamay. During their conversation he takes off the vest, then it cuts to another bartender. When it cuts back the guy has the vest on, another shot and the vest is off again.
Continuity mistake: When the cow blows by the truck, the truck is driving down an empty dirt road with water on both sides. During the shots of the occupants, the road behind the truck is paved and dry. Also in one of these rear shots a truck (Red Chevrolet Blazer) drives by in the opposite direction.
Factual error: The actual Tsavo lions responsible for the killings had no manes - see for yourself; they are on display at the Field Museum in Chicago. [The filmmakers employed artistic license in using maned lions. They were also certain to include -- at the very end of the movie -- footage of the real Tsavo maneaters, as they appear in the Field Museum.]
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Graboid is pulling the truck you can see that there is a gunrack and a gun in it. Right before they are about to hit the rock you can see that the gun falls off of the gunrack. The gun goes on and off the rack between the following shots.
Factual error: The crew sent to board the ill fated jumbo jet is in the "Remora", which is clearly a modified F-117A Stealth Fighter, but retaining the same dimensions. It would be physcially impossible to fit that many people and such a spacious cargo hold into a plane that size with the engines. In fact, with the additional weight, the engines would have to be even bigger for it to operate.
Continuity mistake: In the final underground laboratory explosion scene Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz are being pulled up to the surface in a cage by a crane on the surface and are covered with grey soot from the underground explosion. In the ensuing scene when being met by the people on the surface they are all cleaned up.
Continuity mistake: In the final battle scene between Geena Davis and Craig Beirko, Beirko's character slashes Davis' character across the stomach (upper right hand side). In the next shot, the wound is located on the lower left side and in a subsequent shot, the wound has multiplied to become two wounds: one in the upper right hand side and a second in the lower left hand side.
