Continuity mistake: The little motor boat that G. Peck uses appears to have lost its windshield from the time he is driving it to when it is tied up.
Revealing mistake: When the blonde stripper slaps the brunette slapper, for calling her "leftovers," in the closeup of the brunette being slapped, the hand is that of a male; very rough and hairy, and not the blonde stripper's.
Continuity mistake: Approximately 46 minutes into the film, Robert Preston is testing a new bullwhip. The whip is in his left hand as he brings his arm back and cracks the whip. He brings the left arm back for a second crack, and the shot changes to a closer angle just as he brings the whip down, only now it is suddenly in his right hand and not the left. The editing, the sound effect, the arm swing all seem perfectly coordinated, except that the whip changed hands between camera set-ups.
Continuity mistake: During the close-up in the small boat when Elvis and his date go ashore at the plantation, his sailboat has been anchored a long distance from shore. In the aerial view, his sailboat is much closer to the dock.
Continuity mistake: Don Murray goes into the bathroom wearing a T-shirt under his shirt and tie (it clearly shows through the shirt). When he comes out he still has the shirt and tie on but the T-shirt has mysteriously disappeared.

After the Castaways have set the rope on fire, a heavy safety harness is seen around one of the native's waist. As the rope burns upwards, an attached cable pulls him up.
