Character mistake: Detective Sing asks Dr Gordon to listen to Amanda's testimony. Any detective would know its not a testimony, its a statement. Testimonies are done in court, not a police station. (00:23:00)
Character mistake: When the Smiths first enter the store Home Made, the camera pans around and faces the store's large display picture which reads, "The true measure of a home lies in it's kitchen," but the word "it's" should be "its."
Character mistake: When the plane is landing, and we see out the window that landing is less than 10 seconds away, the captain says: "Cabin crew take your seats." By that point they should have been seated for a long time.
Character mistake: After Bryce and Amanda arrive, Sam and Amanda are walking out of the immigration and customs office. Amanda says that she loves the Caribbean. The Bahamas is not in the Caribbean. (00:11:36)
Character mistake: Declan tells Ethan that 162 (meters) is "pushing minimum height for a (BASE) jump." This is not the case. It's not uncommon for jumps to be made from sub-100m heights. In fact the lowest BASE jump was debatably made from the hand of the Christ the Redeemer in Rio at 29 meters. However it must be said that jumping between buildings, like in the movie, is extremely dangerous and carries even more risk than just normal BASE jumping. (01:22:20)
Character mistake: The police radio identifies the fugitives' car as a 1958 Cadillac, but it is a 1962.
Character mistake: When Donnie (spotter) is giving Swagger ranges to fire, he doesn't tell Swagger what hold to use.
Character mistake: When the posse is heading out in the morning, one guy says that it's heading north and they start riding in the direction he's pointing. However it's supposed to be first thing in the morning, and you can see the shadows of the horses cast to the left of screen while they are riding towards the camera. The sun rises in the east, which would be right of screen with the shadows cast towards the west. Since they are riding towards camera, this puts them heading south.
Character mistake: When the American hands over the wills to Ian Fleming he calls him Lieutenant Commander, but when Fleming turns up at the camp he has gold braid on his cap - only commanders and above wear gold braid. Also they kept calling the RAF guy Flight Sargent but he didn't have a crown above his stripes.
Character mistake: When Parker awakes in the hospital bed, you can hear the female news anchor say that the thieves got away in a "silver [Chevrolet] Suburban" when actually the Suburban was gold. (00:21:00)
Character mistake: Blore accuses Lombard saying "What about those 21 poor natives in South Africa?" The record played during the first evening mentioned indeed 21 men, but that were natives of a tribe in East Africa. (00:14:20 - 01:10:10)
Character mistake: Throughout the whole movie, Mary Anne has an e at the end, yet in the note her mother wrote to Tom, Anne has no e at the end. It even has an e at the end in the ending credits.
Character mistake: The official in charge of announcing the voting results keeps pronouncing Cardinal Adeyemi's name in different ways; he puts the accent on the last "e" the first time, then the French way on the last "i", then mere seconds later the "e" again. Considering Adeyemi already walked in the conclave as one of the 4 favourites, and that utmost care was put in the preparation of the ceremonial (in an earlier scene, Ralph Fiennes' character makes sure he knows how to pronounce the name of one of the unimportant cardinals), it's quite the egregious mistake that he keeps repeating. (00:44:20 - 00:44:50)
Character mistake: Lawyer Tom was in the bar when locals were speculating that Kya killed Chase. He told Kya that people in Barkley Cove call her "Marsh Girl" and "When you stand trial, you will be judged by a jury of your peers from Barkley Cove." In the courtroom, people were shouting "She's guilty" and "We all know she's guilty." The judge pounded his gavel and said, "We will now begin jury selection." Tom and/or the judge should have filed a "Motion for Change of Venue" to ensure a fair and unbiased trial. (00:10:23 - 00:29:44)
Character mistake: Detective Spitzer went into Harper's dark/unlit house, saw his partner Greg on the floor, and then saw Alec standing in the kitchen. Without identifying himself, telling Alec to drop his weapon (pistol pointed toward the floor), or bothering to determine what happened, Detective Spitzky shoots Alec. (01:27:08)
Character mistake: The protagonist says "You know, Croesus once said 'Count no man happy until the end is known'" but it's not Croesus uttering that line. According to Herodotus, Solon says it to King Croesus. (00:03:00)
Character mistake: When the record plays, after Vera emphatically fists her own mouth, Hugh Lombard is called out on the murder of "Jennifer Hayes." A couple scenes later Vera is in the kitchen and asks him "What about that girl?" as they share a glass of milk. Lombard then asks back "Carol Hayes?" Spoiler; It may not be a plot hole but a mistake made by the character, since he is not the real Lombard but rather someone else posing as him. (00:18:10 - 00:32:10)
Character mistake: Upon arriving to the house they say Zoe's mother committed suicide when she was 10 but later on before going back to the house to expose her step mom Sam says her mom committed suicide when she was 8. (00:16:56 - 01:17:46)
Character mistake: The shady gun dealer is showing off his merchandise. He picks up a handgun, and he says "it's your standard Beretta 9mm I'm sure your familiar with it..." as he's manipulating it, but he's really holding a CZ 75, a Czechoslovakian made firearm. The make and manufacture is always stamped on every gun produced. (00:40:30 - 00:41:30)
Character mistake: In her first walk through the city with Dr. Ido, after feeding the dog her sandwich, Alita takes a flyer and reads it. Between the lines that read "Wanted" and "Murder" there is a line in Spanish that says "Querido para el asesinato." It should say "Querido por el asesinato".
