
Trivia: Before Leopold (Bugs) begins conducting, he takes the conductor's baton and breaks it. Leopold Stokowski never conducted with a baton, so this is the reason why Bugs breaks it.

Trivia: The soup crate that the coyote uses for the "free drink of water" trap has "Harris Soup" on the side - a reference to the Warner Brothers animator Ken Harris.

Trivia: The first Tom and Jerry cartoon. The duo were originally named "Jasper and Jinx" by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, though only Tom was identified on screen by his original name (Jasper). Hanna-Barbera would later use the name "Jinx" in their television creation "Pixie and Dixie", where their adversary was the cat, Mr Jinx.

Trivia: The names in the opening credits are written in "Elmer Fudd-ese"'; that is, written the way Elmer would say them.

Trivia: When Daffy is saluting the portrait of General MacArthur, along the bottom of the painting you can read the artist's name: Cornett Wood. Wood was a layout artist for Warner Brothers.

Trivia: When Donald Duck falls off the roof when he slides on the butter whilst holding the piece of baked rubber cement, a "Goofy Holler" can be heard.

Trivia: When Porky and Daffy are parking their car, there is a building beside them advertising a doctor's office "Dr Brown - Leap In, Limp Out" - a reference to the Warner Brothers sound editor Treg Brown.

Trivia: On the picnic blanket, there is a dish of ice-cream with a cherry on top. Next to the ice-cream you can see a jar of "Frisby Pure Jam" - a reference to the Warner Brothers director Friz Freleng.

Trivia: "Pecos Pest" was the final Tom and Jerry cartoon produced by Fred Quimby before he went into retirement. From the next short, "That's My Mommy", until "Tot Watchers", all subsequent Tom and Jerry cartoons at MGM were produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.

Trivia: The hunter in this cartoon is a caricature of the actor Victor Moore.

Trivia: When Stan and Oliver are working with the road gang, Stan nicks Oliver in the rear with his pickaxe. The pickaxe that Stan Laurel was using was a real one and Oliver Hardy received a nasty cut to his rear.

Trivia: "Tweetie Pie" was the first Warner Brothers cartoon to win a Best Animated Short Film Academy Award.
