S.W.A.T. (2003)

Corrected entry: When Gamble and Street are in the bank, Gamble takes the lead. Before he shoots the terrorist, You can see that he is left handed, but in the firing shot he is triggering the gun with right hand, and after that he is shown left handed in the next shot.

Correction: Some people are ambidextrous. I'm not, but can still shoot a gun, or shoot a pool cue with either hand.

Psycho (1998)

Corrected entry: In the concluding moments of the film (and during the closing credits) the police officers and detectives investigating the murder act rather strangely. After the victim's car is dragged out of the swamp, even though they now know that the body is in the car's trunk, no one bothers to open the trunk. No one even pays much attention to the car. The tow truck just hauls the vehicle away with the body still crumpled up inside. The car is pulled out of shot for a moment, but it's not a long enough period of time for the trunk to have been opened or for the body to have been removed. This may simply be a very poorly run police force. Most police operations would have remained on the scene for hours more and a coroner would have been present.

Professor Zed

Correction: You just answered your own mistake. This may have been a poorly run police force. On the other hand, knowing the body is in the trunk, it would be easier to take the car to the forensics lab intact, rather than taking the body out of the crime scene, and possibly destroying evidence.

Death Proof (2007)

Correction: Ford never made a Charger. You mean Dodge Charger. However, the duck was also used on Stuntman Mike's Nova. In this movie, the hood ornament is a trademark, if you will, of Stuntman Mike. The duck resembling the ornament of a truck in another movie does not categorically mean it is a reference to the previous movie, and could just be coincidence, unless there is a cite to prove this.

Corrected entry: When Divya's girlfriend claims that she's been "spammed this one link seven times," she remarks that she hopes "it's cats that look like Hitler" because she can never get enough of that. The film takes place in 2003-2004; catsthatlooklikehitler.com was established in 2006.

Correction: Who says she was referring specifically to that site? She could have been sent a link to something similar and, because she liked it, made the comment. She didn't say specifically catsthatlooklikehitler.com.

Correction: The optical mouse was invented in 1970, and was in use during the 1980s. They weren't very common for household use, but laboratories and educational institutes used them quite a bit by the mid 90s.

Due Date (2010)

Corrected entry: While crossing Texas there is a sign for Dallas and in the background there are mountains clearly visible. There are no mountains in Texas.

Correction: Totally incorrect; there is mountainous terrain in the West of Texas, including Guadalupe Peak, 8749 feet above sea level, the Guadalupe, Davis and Santiago ranges of the Rocky Mountains, and the central hill country.

Corrected entry: There really should have been no reason for Marty to risk going back to 1885 to rescue Doc. Obviously, 1985 Doc being killed by Tannen, did not negate his eventual existence (as evidenced by 1955 Doc still existing). It's understandable Marty would want to prevent his friend being murdered, but when they learned of this fact in 1955, this event had already happened 70 years ago. 1955 Doc surely would have realized the pointlessness of Marty going to rescue his future self in the past when 1955 Doc would eventually become 1985 Doc again through the natural course of time. In light of this, surely 1955 Doc would have explained to Marty there was no reason to go back and possible cause more damage to the Space-Time Continuum.

Correction: You're missing the point; if Doc is killed in 1885, there will be a paradox. 1955 Doc wouldn't know that he went back to 1885 yet, so wouldn't know he could be killed, so wouldn't think to warn Marty in 1985. Besides, Seamus would have been killed because of Doc's influence in 1855, so Marty never would have existed either. There were plenty of valid reasons to go back to 1885.

rswarrior

Actually there wouldn't be a paradox. First, even though Doc is killed in 1885, the 1955 version is his younger self and not warning Marty of anything. He doesn't warn him of anything actually. Second, Seamus wouldn't have been killed because of Doc's influence. Where does that even come in? There really isn't a reason for Marty to risk going back there other than wanting to help his friend.

Corrected entry: In the opening battle scene, the shadow of an airplane is seen. The plane is a single fixed wing type typical of WWII vintage and not the bi-planes of WWI.

Correction: Not all WWI planes were bi-planes.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: In the scene where the first team is about to go into the reactor chamber to attempt a repair, Harrison Ford bids them well with the phrase "may God be with you". In the 1960's the U.S.S.R was a communist super power and the state's official position was that of Atheism. Throughout the film, Harrison Ford exemplifies the state's objectives in all aspects. Therefore, it is highly unlikely he would ever refer to "God".

Larry Kohut

Correction: The Russian Orthodox Church existed throughout the Communist era. The official atheist stance of the Communist government was most propagated during the 30s and 40s, during which time church membership declined drastically and believers were harassed, some church leaders were killed. By the 60s church attendance and membership actually began to increase. A Russian of the time could still say "God be with you" without it being a religious stance. It would mean nothing more than "good luck." It's the same as in English, the word "Goodbye" was derived from the phrase "God be with ye."

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: When they are attaching the medals to the bomb, they are attached to the front of the bomb near the trigger button. In real life they were attached to the tail fins. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to attach anything near the trigger as it could cause a malfunction.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Danny and Evelyn find out Rafe has been shot down in Europe it's raining with lots of thunder and lightning. Lightning is VERY rare in Hawaii.

Correction: Very rare doesn't mean impossible. I lived there for 6 months, not far from Pearl Harbor, and experienced thunder and lightning storms twice.

Predators (2010)

Corrected entry: Hanzo kills the second predator with his samurai, then dies himself from his wounds in battle. When this happens, his human partners are already long gone, running away towards the predators camp. They do not know about the outcome of the battle between Hanzo and the second predator, having not witnessed the battle. Later, when the third predator is killed, the two surviving humans act as if they have finally prevailed over the three predators. How could they know that the second predator is dead? More troubling, since Hanzo never shows up, they should at least be worried that the second predator might still be alive and hunting them.

Correction: They assumed, since the predator was not breathing down their necks, that the predator was either dead or mortally wounded, and that Hanzo was in the same situation since he had not shown up. Their actions of confronting the predator camp would not have changed either way. If the second predator was still alive, they'd have to deal with it after the camp.

Corrected entry: Ricky and Carley's oldest son is 10 years old, yet they only met after winning his first race and it was still the same season.

Correction: It's not the same season, it's years later. Ricky has gone from winning his first race to becoming the best driver in NASCAR. That doesn't happen in one season.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: Doc begins telling Marty about his accident with Rolls-Royce, before stopping himself and telling Marty it's better that he doesn't know. How exactly did Doc find out about the Rolls-Royce incident in the first place? When Doc was in the year 2015, he didn't actually talk to Marty or any of his family or Needles, so who told him about the Rolls-Royce incident? At that point, it had happened 30 years prior, so it's doubtful that a minor car crash from 1985 would still be the talk of the town in 2015.

calidude

Correction: In BTTF Part 2, they are there to rescue Marty's son going to jail, which in turn puts his daughter in jail. Doc said he did some research and found that the McFly family gets destroyed, that he traced the fall of the McFlys to that incident of Marty Jr committing the crime with Griff. He obviously found out about the accident while doing the research. Even Jennifer found out about the accident by overhearing family chatter, so it was no secret amongst the McFlys. Also keep in mind, in part one Doc does go to the future, but he is back before we see what he was up to. Marty did tell Doc to look him up when he gets there, so maybe he did speak to Marty.

jshy7979

Correction: A Rolls Royce is hardly a minor car to have an accident with. They are such a rare car, one being in an accident in Hill Valley would be unusual enough to be news.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When Seamus McFly goes to comfort his crying baby son William, we can see that he is a very affectionate father. This was practically unheard of in the 19th century. Children were routinely beaten for even the smallest infractions at the time, it was the norm. Since William was only an infant, I doubt he would be beaten, but his father would not be so kind towards him either. His attitude would be more like "shut up kid, what are you crying about now?". The whole concept of being affectionate towards one's children is more of a 20th century idea.

calidude

Correction: And yet people are different, no matter the age or cultural norms. Some people are just nicer than others, it has nothing to do with some preconceived notion of how societal norms were for any given time. When my father was a child, it was acceptable to give a wife a backhand if she "got out of line", but he never did.

rswarrior

Correction: It was not unheard of in 1885. Showing affection to children became a trend as early as the 1850s.

M*A*S*H (1972)

Season 1 generally

Corrected entry: In Henry's office, during several scenes there is a diploma hanging on the wall behind the stove. It is partially obscured, but if you look carefully you can make out that it says "Henry Clay High School". Beneath that in smaller print, you can make out "Lexington, Kentucky". (I live in Lexington and this is a real high school. That's why it caught my eye.) Henry claims to have been born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois, so this diploma makes no sense.

jbdelatta

Correction: This isn't trivia, and not really a mistake, either. I was born in one city, raised in another, and graduated high school in another province entirely, returning to the city I was raised in after graduation. My diploma comes from a town in a province that I only lived in for 2 years. When asked, I say I was raised in the city I spent the most time in.

The Hangover (2009)

Corrected entry: Why would the guys bother turning the $82,000 in chips into cash? The bag that they stole from Mr. Chou only contained casino chips. Besides, they had just cheated Ceaser's Palace, and the pit bosses/security were onto them. Jade falling from the chair distracted them enough where Alan could get away from the blackjack table, but security would've easily found them when they were cashing the chips. It just seemed like an unnecessary thing to do and it didn't affect the overall plot at all.

Correction: Chips are not legal tender, cash is. Being unnecessary is your opinion, not a mistake.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: Towards the end of the film, when the brothers are driving, through the front grill of the car and the fan is visible yet is not moving. The fan spins when the car is running.

Clerk13

Correction: No, it's an electric fan, operated by a clutch, which only comes on when the engine needs cooling, as opposed to a fan driven by a fan belt, which would turn with the engine speed. The electric fans also allow air to be drawn through the radiator when the car is not moving.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: In the previous movie it is explained that the T-virus killed nearly every living thing on the planet. A shot from space shows a desert planet Earth with little to no water left. Yet in this movie the oceans are there and the lands are lush with greenery (and even some birds) with no apparent explanation in the movie or during production.

Correction: In all three previous movies animals, usually mutated, have existed. It's been years since the original release of the T virus, and there were always pockets of normal vegetation, although most of the planet was dried out. Most does not mean all.

rswarrior

Correction: But in the previous movie it does show all the oceans have dried up. In this one is shows earth with all of its oceans and says it's only been 4 years.

Saw III (2006)

Corrected entry: Previously (part II), Amanda sported a short, spiky 'do. Here, her hair is back to its original length, (as in the first film) Given the actual time-frame between parts II and III (about a year), this would be impossible as female hair grows only half an inch per month; maximum 6.5" in twelve months. Amanda's hair should be only shoulder-length here, and its almost as long as Lynn's.

oprlvr33

Correction: It's been about a year. They have these things called hair extensions. Women use them.

rswarrior

Amanda Young would not be wearing hair extensions, lol. It's just a detail that was overlooked. Her hair would not grow to that length in a year, and her character would not be going out and getting extensions put in.
