School of Rock (2003)

Corrected entry: When The School of Rock goes back on stage for the encore during Battle of the Bands, the whole class goes on stage. If all the kids are on stage, who starts controlling the lights when they start playing the encore?

Correction: The auditorium's stage crew. They don't need to get the lighting exactly the same as when the students ran the lights.

Corrected entry: When the demonologist arrives the last time, he closes the screen door (then the front door) when he enters. When he leaves and opens the front door, the screen door is standing open.

Correction: So the screen door didn't latch properly. Mine does it all the time.

We Were Soldiers (2002)

Corrected entry: When Galloway and an unidentified medic are clearing Jimmy Nakayama off of the field, Galloway tries to pick him up by the legs and peels them to the bone. Jimmy screams in anguish. Severe burns are merciful. With badly burned tissue (which would have had to be the case for the skin to peel off) the nerves have been destroyed. Jimmy would not have felt additional pain when the tissue tore. (01:38:30)

Correction: Is he screaming in anguish, or from horror at seeing his legs peeling off? I know I'd freak seeing my skin slough off like it's an overripe banana peel.

rswarrior

Correction: Joe Lee Galloway did not rescue Jimmy D. Nakayama, he did help load Jimmy into the Huey when he was ask to help by a Medic, from Joe Lee Galloway's original story Nov 17 1965. Subject: Jimmy Nakayama died in flight,3rd degree burns no other injuries. Ie Crushed ankle. Russell L Ross October 6, 2018 ยท Jimmy Nakayma died in flight,3rd degree burns no other injuries. Young Guns 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Billy is in jail, he is told by one of the men guarding him that he "got eighteen dimes in each barrel" of his shotgun and asked if Billy had ever seen what a dollar and eighty does to a forty dollar steer. Later on Billy shoots the same man with his own shotgun and says its "the best $1.80 I ever spent". If there are two barrels of a shotgun and there's eighteen dimes in each barrel, shouldn't that be $3.60? (02:06:00 - 02:10:00)

Tams

Correction: Not if he fired only one barrel.

rswarrior

Correction: That shotgun can be fired one barrel at a time if desired.

Corrected entry: Kayla drives Logan to work in Blue car, than drives it to the school. Later, we see Logan pick her up from work in the same car.

Correction: The scenes take place over different days. The El Camino can be seen in the second scene at the logging camp (not the first scene where she drops him off) before Logan picks her up from work, meaning he was using the car that day.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: In the first dream sequence of the film Patricia Arquette's character tells the little girl that her name is 'Kirsten'. However, she is credited as 'Kristen' and referred to as such throughout the rest of the film.

Correction: That's quite common in real life. I had a friend named Chirsta, but everyone called her Christa. People even called her Christa after seeing her driver's licence with the correctly spelled name.

rswarrior

But did your friend ever refer to herself as Christa? Because that's what Patricia Arquette does. She calls herself Kirsten. I did read somewhere online that the original drafts of the movie had the character's name as Kirsten.

She can be called both and if she doesn't mind, who cares? It's like saying you can't call someone by their nickname.

Corrected entry: In the scene at the custom car shop, Lori hits a lever that causes the black van to drop down on the car lift. Those lifts have special devices within the lift rails that prevent that kind of situation from happening. When she hit the lever, the car may have dropped a couple or a few inches but not drop almost all the way back. The safety mechanisms would have engaged instantly.

fiveonfridays

Correction: Pretty close, but the safeties have to be engaged to prevent it from falling, and not all mechanic shops do that, instead relying on the hydraulic pressure to hold the rack up. If the safety hasn't been engaged, or is faulty, the lift can still fall all the way down. I've unfortunately seen it happen.

The Cell (2000)

Corrected entry: When Peter tries to rescue the girl from the tank at the end, he fires several bullets into the glass but it doesn't break. So then he finds an iron bar to hit it with, and the glass shatters. Even if you argue that the bullets must have weakened the glass, anything capable of withstanding the velocity of a bullet would surely need more force than one man can muster in order to shatter it.

Correction: Not necessarily. In the same way that some brands of bulletproof vests will stop a bullet, even at close range, but not stop a knife, the force expended by a bullet is focused on one tight area. A heavier, slower impact may indeed break glass where a bullet doesn't. I used to drive an armored car that had bulletproof glass. It resisted even high powered rifle bullets, but still had to be replaced every couple of years due to rock chips from the highway. Just an example of how a slower impact can still affect objects.

Trancers (1985)

Corrected entry: Jack Deth is in the past and driving a vintage car. Although he is driving in a straight line as he talks to the girl, he is swinging the wheel wildly from side to side.

Correction: Vintage cars often had a lot of play in the suspension which causes a person to make frequent corrections to keep it in a straight line. I had a 1965 car, with manual steering, that had a lot of side to side movement to keep it in line. Higher speeds meant more movements to keep it straight. This was in a car with a good, aligned front end, in a poorly aligned car, the movement is even more exaggerated.

rswarrior

I think the correction was posted without watching the actual scene (s), because I'd say it is evident that he's not driving a real car and he's doing the old style "Look at me, I am totally driving this car" wheel turn that does not match to the slightest any car movement he'd have to correct.

Sammo

Corrected entry: The transporter in which Jaws got Amasova and Bond to the ruins has its steering wheel on the right hand side. But Egypt has and always had left hand drive - on the right side of the road, that is. (00:43:35)

ichabod

Correction: Cars with opposite side drive can be imported into other countries as long as they meet certain criteria and legislation. Canada has always been right side of the road, left hand drive cars, but I see lots of right hand drive cars every week. I've also driven some, deciding whether I wanted to buy them.

Transporter 3 (2008)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Frank is at the cliff with Natalia, Johnson is trying to locate him via GPS and can't. But right afterward, he calls Frank's cell. He should have been able to just track the cell phone.

Correction: Not all cell phones are GPS enabled, and triangulating the signal would give a general area, but not precise location.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When 'Big Bob' is about to enter Harold and Kumar's cell, he doesn't even unlock the cell door. He just pulls it back as if it was never locked and there's no security.

Robb

Correction: Exactly. The guard left the cell door unlocked so Bob could get in. He even said something to Harold and Kumar about enjoying their time with Bob.

Witness (1985)

Corrected entry: The Amish are early wakers, they have one day to raise the barn, still - judging by the shadows and the position of the Sun - they start working around noon.

Orsi

Correction: There is preperatory work which must be done before the frame can be raised, such as laying a foundation and planning, which can begin in early morning, but take time to complete before the structure goes together. With the amount of people raising the barn it is still possible to raise the barn before nightfall, which in summer can be quite late in the evening.

La Bamba (1987)

Corrected entry: The bulletin of the plane crash announces J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) as being 29 at the time of his death. He was actually 28, and he would have turned 29 in October of that year, had he lived.

MJR09

Correction: That's a common occurrence in real life. When a person has a birthday late in the year, like me, people usually take the year it is, minus the year of birth, and say that's the person's age, not taking into account being born in the autumn or winter. For example, 2009 - 1969 = 40, so most people would just assume the person born in 1969 is 40, not 39 about to turn 40.

rswarrior

It's not that common to do (and even less common at the start of the year in Jan or Feb). When people are discussing someone's age, especially famous people and their deaths, they say what their age actually is and not what age they would have been. For example, Chadwick Boseman is said to have died when he was 43, despite being 3 months from turning 44.

Coraline (2009)

Corrected entry: Mr Bobinsky is supposedly Russian (he calls the new cheese "novy syr", the mice "myschka" etc.), still the flag hanging from his window is Macedonian (a two-headed eagle on red). He might be royalist, however the traditional standard of the Russian Tzars is a two-headed eagle on golden background.

Orsi

Correction: It's not a Montenegrin flag, but a Russian coat of arms.

Correction: Displaying a Montenegrin flag doesn't mean he's Montenegrin. There's no reason why someone could not be displaying another country's flag at their home. In Canada, I have seen numerous flags flown at people's homes including British, French, German, Russian, etc. It doesn't necessarily mean the people flying the flags are from that country. Bobinsky can be Russian, but may choose to display the Montenegrin flag if his family, or he, were originally from Montenegro, for example.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When Selleck is driving Ready and his crew home from the airport, Ready's seat belt is twisted in one shot. A few shots later, his seat belt is as it should be.

meganv

Correction: "A few shots later" is plenty of time to realize your seatbelt is twisted, and time enough to fix it.

Doomsday (2008)

Corrected entry: The daughter of Dr. Kane, Sol's sister, looks at the Bentley and says, "What does this do?" apparently clueless about cars and their use, yet as we later see, cars and other vehicles (buses, bikes, cabs, highway patrol cars) are used by the punks. Sol himself is seen driving a car.

dioog

Correction: Sol's sister was raised in a medieval atmosphere before she was kidnapped and taken into the city. She likely arrived by the train, the same one used to escape the city. She may not have had any contact with a car. Sol, on the other hand, had voluntarily gone to the city in an act of rebellion, and became a leader of the city dwellers, so he would have learned about vehicles. Sol's sister may have heard vehicles in use while in her cell, but not seen any of them.

Doomsday (2008)

Corrected entry: The survivors of Glasgow turned to cannibalism due to the lack of food. However, in one scene we see hundreds if not thousands of cows.

dioog

Correction: The cows were all seen near the barricaded border. Over time, the cows would have become feral. The Glaswegians probably never went as far as the border, as they learned from their parents and possibly first hand experience that anyone going too close to the border were killed by the guarding weapons. They soon wouldn't have any reason to go to the border, and may never have even known about the cows, as there were no cows around Glasgow. The population explosion of cows was also explained in the movie as having been a very recent development.

Fast & Furious (2009)

Corrected entry: Near the end, when Brian launches out of the tunnel to kill the bad guy, the Subaru Impreza STI he is driving flips. As it flips over you can see the undercarriage and both the drive shaft and gas tank are gone, as well as swaybars and other suspension parts.

Correction: By the time you can see the undercarriage due to the dust and the camera angles, the car has rolled about 6 1/2 times, all the while we can see parts flying off the car. It is not inconceivable the tank and driveshaft et al broke and flew off during the crash.

Prom Night (2008)

Correction: People will often not interfere because of apathy, not wanting to get involved, or because they might think someone else has already handled the situation. It's very seldom people will check to see what's going on in reality.
