Supernatural (2005)

Correction: Plausible possibilities are that the odometer doesn't work, or had been replaced at some time *because* it wasn't working. I've had two cars where the odometer either quit working, or only worked intermittently, and they weren't as old as the Impala. Or the odometer only has 5 numbers on it, and rolled over after it hit 99,999 miles.

Adventureland (2009)

Corrected entry: In the scene at the club, Lisa is doing the macarena. The movie takes place in 1987, this dance wasn't invented until the 1990's.

Correction: The song was recorded in the '90s, but the dance moves (and similar dances) were done in the 70s to "The Locomotion" by Little Eva, and the music and dance moves are very close to "It Ain't What You Do, But The Way That You Do It", a jazz song covered by Kylie Minogue and Fun Boy Three in 1982. If she was dancing to the song by Los del Rio, which wasn't recorded until 1993 it's a legitimate mistake, but if it's just the dance moves it's not. Please clarify.

Knowing (2009)

Corrected entry: The son attempts to reach her father near the end via cell phone, but it doesn't work (it is not made clear whether the "no signal" is geographical or the result of solar activity as it is at other parts of the movie). Nonetheless, when he goes to a landline pay phone at the gas station and calls his father, he receives the call on his cell phone without any problem.

Correction: The solar activity is what was causing the interference to cell and cordless phones. As heard on John's cell phone call to his father earlier, the signal comes and goes depending on the flare activity.

Risky Business (1983)

Corrected entry: In the scene after Joel drops his parents off at the airport, he pours himself a whisky and coke. During the closeup he is pouring "New Coke" into the glass but when the shot changes he is setting down a can of Coca-Cola Classic.

Correction: It couldn't have been "New Coke" that he was pouring in, because this movie was released in 1983, and New Coke didn't come out until 1985.

12 Rounds (2009)

Corrected entry: After the hotel scene, the FBI is with Det. Fisher outside and they tell him they can trace Miles' phone if he keeps him talking for at least 30 seconds (they repeatedly inform him that that's all the time they need). At the end of the call, they say they didn't have enough time for a trace, however almost 70 seconds have already passed. (00:57:15 - 00:58:25)

mboeker

Correction: The FBI agent is also cocky and overconfident. Danny told him earlier that Miles' phone was encrypted, and the agent just brushed the comment aside. Obviously the agent was wrong, and Danny was right.

Zoom (2006)

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the film, when Spencer Breslin is about to dive into the pool, several times we can see a sign (behind the women) that says "No Diving Allowed". Why is there a high-dive board if there is no diving allowed?

wizard_of_gore

Correction: Because you can still jump feet first off of a high diving board.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When Bond and Domino jump from the wall of Palmyra, the Arabs are shooting at them from above. Bond and Domino dive, and try to hide by swimming under water. But if seen from 20 meters above, they would be just as easy to see in the clear water, swimming just below the surface.

Jacob La Cour

Correction: They're not necessarily trying to hide, but trying to avoid getting shot. Once the bullets hit water, they slow down drastically, reducing the chances they would be injured or killed.

2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Brian arrives at the race in his skyline, there is no GTR at the race. However, you can clearly see the GTR during the race. (00:04:30 - 00:09:15)

Correction: During the nearly 7 minute race, there are no scenes which show a GTR. When Brian arrives at the beginning of the race, there is a brief overhead shot of the crowd and cars, which does not show all the cars there. There's more than enough time for the GTR to show up for the end of the 7 minute race. If you mean the GTR badge on Brian's car, you need to specify there is no emblem, and where it is, or should be.

The Bill (1984)

Show generally

Corrected entry: In the Conviction: To The Limit episode Sergeant Stone and PC Gayle pull up outside Abi Nastase's house, Sergeant Stone is wearing a wedding ring, in the television show Stone is not married.

kelle144

Correction: Nothing says you must be married to wear a wedding ring. A waitress friend of mine wore one at work to cut down on men flirting with her.

The Bill (1984)

Corrected entry: In the episode Appropriate Force (24/09/2008) Sergeant's Stone and Smith are talking in the yard near the end of the show. If you look carefully at Stone's left hand he is wearing a wedding ring.

Correction: Nothing says you must be married to wear a wedding ring. A waitress friend of mine wore one at work to cut down on men flirting with her.

As Old as the Hills (1) - S3-E25

Corrected entry: When Hank and Peggy are in the truck, Peggy says that they can't travel until Ladybird dies and Bobby moves out, but in the episode "Three Days of the Kahndo" (season two), Hank mentioned that nothing is tying them to the house now that they have automatic sprinklers.

Correction: Hank means that nothing is tying them to the house to take care of the lawn, he is not talking about leaving for an extended period of time. In other words, they can leave the house to do errands, go to church or ball games, shopping, etc, without having to come back to the house to move a lawn sprinkler. He's not talking about going on long trips with Peggy, which they presumably can't do until Ladybird dies (which shouldn't be too long, as she is already old at that point) or Bobby moves out, which is not likely going to be at 18 years old, because many kids are staying at home longer these days.

Hitman (2007)

Corrected entry: When the two Interpol agents wait in their car and listen to some conversation, a black GAZ 24 with one police light on the roof approaches. On the right hand side, some parked cars can be seen. The last car in the line is an East German Trabant 601 (in the original "papyrus" paint job). The car is a bit covered by a Moskvich 2140. No Trabi were ever exported to the Soviet Union due to the two-stroke-engine of the Trabant. The scene would be OK without the Trabi.

BangOlafson

Correction: The police vehicle would be a GAZ 21, or Volga, but close enough. Cars can be privately imported into Russia (the Soviet Union broke up in 1991) and many cars stolen in other countries are illegally imported. Once into Russia, it's common to be able to register the car with a few rubles to the right people, and the car can stay. I've seen $100000 BMWs stolen in Germany (for example) brought into Russia, registered and resold for as little as $15000.

FM (1978)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie, deejay Jeff Dugan oversleeps, and must race to the radio station in order to start his 6 a.m. shift on time. I don't know what time of year this movie takes place, but as Jeff drives to the station, the sunlight is much too bright for it to be 6 a.m., even if it's summertime.

Correction: Define "too bright". Is the sun too high in the sky? Is there some other indication of the time of day? Where I live it begins getting light at 0400 in the summer, and is full daylight and is as bright as it's going to get at 0500.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: At the end when the bullet train gets blown up, Ice Cube Jumps off into the water about 10 seconds before it gets blown up. He is obviously way behind the train after it gets hit seeing as how the train was going over 200 mph, but when the train is falling, it's somehow right behind him.

Correction: Darius' forward momentum carried him toward the train, and the train, after being blown up, stopped almost immediately. Also Darius was guiding himself in freefall toward the water, and the train fell off the tracks in the middle of the bridge, pretty much where Darius was guiding himself.

rswarrior

Correction: Usaully a valve is closed by turning it to the right, but not all valves are set up the same way. It may not necessarily be righty-tighty, lefty-loosey with this valve.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When 8Ball was standing at the clocking-in machine, waiting on Zac arriving for 8.30 a.m., there was only one clocking-in card on the righthand side rack. In the next scene, when Zac came running in to clock in, there were lots of clocking-in cards now there.

Correction: Sure, there would be the overnight shift and stockers going home after shift, likely between 0800 and 0830, explaining the extra cards in the clock out side.

rswarrior

Correction: When Iqbal (not 8Ball) is at the machine, there's several time cards on the right side. It's just when it zooms in on Zack's you don't see any of the other ones, but they're still there.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: When Ice Cube is on the carrier, he launches a tank at a very high speed towards another tank and destroys them both. He attach's the tank to one of those fighter jet launchers, but in reality the tank wouldn't be able to go that fast. The gears would prevent such a speed from being attained.

Correction: The APC (not a tank) is thrown forward by the jet launcher, it is not affected by the gearing, because it is being skidded along.

The Unborn (2009)

Corrected entry: Casey is seen with a drink at the bar, straight after she said, "No" to Mark when he asked her if she wanted anything from the bar.

Correction: I've been to lots of parties where someone asks if I want a drink, I say no, and someone hands me a drink anyway.

Doomsday (2008)

Corrected entry: Somehow, a Bentley Continental GT is still able to function perfectly, with no deflated tires, evaporated fuel or corroded components, despite being left in a cargo container for 27 years.

Razvaluha

Correction: The car was being transported, that's why it was in the container. Some of the shipping containers are airtight, minimizing rust, corrosion etc. They are also shipped without fluid, so there would be no gas or oil to evaporate, which is also likely why she told the sergeant to "Fill 'er up". The tires should definitely be low or flat, though.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: I know being a bad shot isn't necessarily a plot hole, but several times the cops outside have a direct bead on Sgt. Roenick (as he runs in and out of the building) through their telescopic sights at almost point blank range, and miss completely. Likewise, a big deal is made in the laser site scene earlier. One essentially cannot miss with a laser sighted weapon, yet these cops cannot hit the broad side of a barn. This really stretches credulity to the nth degree.

logician

Correction: My brother in law is a member of a police force. Yes it is possible to miss with a laser sighted gun. I can cite many news reports where a suspect has a shootout with police, dozens of shots are fired, and the suspect is only hit once or twice. And, as you said, a bad shot doesn't make a plot hole.
