He is speaking to the character Sam. The actor's name is Jared. [Dean actually says "Sam, check it out", using the character's name, not the actor's.]

When Sam is on the plane searching for the demon, he is told to say the word 'Christos', as demons will flinch at the name of God (said in Latin). 'Christos' is the Latin word for Christ, not God.
