Corrected entry: Following the exit from the battle with Medusa and watching the death of Io, Perseus picks up his sword and the wrap containing the head of Medusa. Then, in the next shot, the wrap has gone from his left hand and he is just carrying the sword in his right.

Correction: Perseus dropped the head to attack Calibos.

Lost (2004)

LA X (Part 1) - S6-E1

Corrected entry: Sayid Jarrah from Iraq is holding a passport in his hand which is an Iranian passport. There are two paragraphs, one in Persian, the other in English, and at the end of each paragraph you can read, "Islamic republic of IRAN." (00:39:30)

ewazatilla

Correction: Jarrah could have gotten an Iranian citizenship.

Corrected entry: Even though all of the RAF helicopters are flying in close proximity to each other, they all freeze at different times. They should all have frozen at the same time.

GalahadFairlight

Correction: Not necessarily. The hydraulic oil and engine oil, and perhaps fuel would have been what froze, causing them to crash. All of these fluids are heated by engine heat, pressure and such. All of those can freeze at different rates depending on the operating temperatures of the respective equipment. This happens at the mine I work at. In extreme cold, the equipment has never frozen up at the same time.

Corrected entry: When Snow White goes into the "cute little cottage", the animals follow her (with the turtle at the end). When the dwarves come home, all the animals sleeping race back down the steps. (By the way, the turtle has finally gotten to the top of the stairs and has finished breathing a sigh of relief as he gets run over.) When the animals run down the stairs, they knock over the turtle, who hides in his shell to keep himself safe as he starts bouncing down the steps. Later, you can see the spot where he landed, but the turtle isn't there. Did the turtle leave? Probably. Where did he go? And besides, was he fast enough to get there, wherever "where" was?

Correction: None of those questions need to be answered as they are irrelevant, and definitely are not mistakes.

Carrie (1976)

Corrected entry: During the dinner scene where Carrie is talking about Tommy Ross, mom throws juice in her face. But you can see Carrie flinch a split second before the juice even hits her face.

Jeffy

Correction: Well, yeah. I flinch, too, when something is flying at my face.

rswarrior

Correction: Considering Margaret's mental state and the nature of her relationship with Carrie, it's likely this isn't the first time she's thrown something at her. Thus, Carrie's flinch could've simply been due to her expecting that something was coming.

Corrected entry: Close Encounters of the Third Kind won a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the loudest film ever created.

Correction: Nowhere on the Guinness Book of Records site is there a listing for loudest film ever created. Besides which, the volume setting in a theater has more to do with how loud a film is.

Halloween 2 (2009)

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the film, when the ambulance hits the cow, the front of the ambulance is completely smashed in and it has stop. When the lone survivor is moving and coughing up blood there is music playing from the radio, which is impossible because there is no power in the ambulance to keep the radio on.

FranyMcbay

Correction: Not necessarily. As long as the battery is providing power to the radio, it can work. Just because the ambulance has stopped does not mean the battery was damaged. The engine can stall, the ecu can be damaged by impact not allowing the vehicle to restart, but the radio is generally on a separate circuit. As long as there is power to the radio, it'll work.

Office Space (1999)

Corrected entry: The "Salami Slicing" technique Michael Bolton has created with his virus will never work on modern banks. currency banking transactions are only conducted using integer-only functions. So there are no roundings that they can take away and put in a different account. Also, if the transactions would round the "fractions of a cent" off they would actually be creating money instead of stealing it, since the "fractions of a cent" normally disappear.

lionhead

Correction: Firstly the movie takes place with banking and computer systems prior to 2000, not modern technology. Secondly, the whole point of using the virus is they thought that since they were updating all the programs for Y2K, they'd get away with it. Finally, the virus didn't work, which is the whole reason the amount of money in the account after only a day or two was so much higher than what they expected. As Michael says: "I suck at math."

2012 (2009)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the small plane is on the landing strip in Yellowstone park, the engine of it starts and stops between shots. It is seen when the camper van is approaching the plane - when we cut between the van and the cast the engine is started, then stopped, then started again within a very small time frame.

Correction: Yes, the engines were started, Gordon began taxiing, Kate and the kids convince him to stop, he shuts off the left engine (complaining all the while), and restarts it when the motorhome comes into view at the end of the runway.

Green Zone (2010)

Corrected entry: When Roy is talking in Marty's office, there are clocks on Marty's wall representing the time in different parts of the world. The minutes on the clock are all different, and in real life, only the hours are different.

BigOLB

Correction: Almost all time zones are one hour, but there are some time zones that are only half an hour different. Much of Newfoundland and Labrador have a half hour time difference from Atlantic Standard Time, Venezuela is a half hour difference from neighboring countries, and Nepal has a 15 minute time difference from Bangladesh, for a couple of examples.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When Bond asks if anything unusual has happened on the island, Tiger says something to the effect of "Everything's just so normal. Nothing happens here". But to hollow out the crater of the volcano and build a rocket launch facility would be a major construction undertaking that would require large numbers of workers, construction material and equipment and would have taken quite a while to complete. How could the islanders not notice a construction project of that magnitude?

poehitman

Correction: With the amount of money involved to do the project, the islanders could easily have been paid off or threatened to keep quiet.

The Lovely Bones (2009)

Corrected entry: At the time of Susie's murder her mother's making dinner and the other kids are watching 'The Partridge Family' on TV. We are assuming this is around 6 PM. We already know the date is December 6, 1973. 'The Partridge Family' actually aired at 8:30 PM EST. It also aired on Fridays - December 6, 1973 was on a Thursday. And when it cut to an exterior shot of the murder scene it was still light out. It would certainly have been pitch black by 5 PM in early December.

Correction: It was dusk during the dinner preparation scene, and dark by the time they were sitting at the table. Suzie attended the film club screening after school, and she was abducted on the way home from school, so it was likely 430 to 5 PM. Sunset on Dec 6, 1973 was at about 4:54 PM, with full dark likely by 5:30. It wouldn't have been pitch black at 5:00. The Partridge Family could have been a rebroadcast by a local network affiliate, airing it at a different time than the main network feed. I remember coming home and watching The Partridge Family and The Brady Bunch after school in the early 70's. The shows were aired back to back from 4 PM to 5 PM. They were all repeats, not the prime time broadcasts.

Traitor (2008)

Corrected entry: (Spoilers.) On the ship, Samir pretends to feel ill and is being escorted by the terrorist group's head of security. Samir asks him how many men he has protecting the group's leader, and the security guy replies with a number (can't remember how many). Yet when Samir returns to gun down the terrorist leader, absolutely no security people show up.

Correction: Two things, first Samir is a trusted member of the cell, and is already past the security, in fact is probably counted as part of the security. Second, the RCMP had already boarded the ship, and would have detained the security members they encountered.

Corrected entry: When John Cusack's character goes into the basement to chat to his Nephew, he says "c'mon you're 20 years old, get out and live life" (or something like that) when they go back in time his nephew is conceived in 1986 meaning that the present must be 2006 but when they get back into the tub to travel back to the present, the readout on the tub says 2010, where the nephew would now be 24 if he had been conceived in 1986.

Quinny

Correction: It is a character mistake, and a pretty common one in real life. If you put a gun to my head, I couldn't tell you my nieces' exact ages, all I know is they are their 20s. It's not illogical for Cusack to just say he's 20, meaning *in* his 20s if he can't immediately recall his exact age.

Bowfinger (1999)

Corrected entry: At the start of the film, Bowfinger patiently (and sincerely) explains that all films cost just $1240.00, and "Chubby Rain" will cost just that. At the time he hasn't even met Daisy, so he has no way of knowing that the developing and printing of the exposed film will be charged to her credit card. As another post points out, this expense alone is hugely more than his entire budget and when he commences production of Chubby Rain he has no way of covering the costs of this absolutely essential procedure. Did he not count a vital part of production - developing and printing exposed stock - as part of his budget? This is not a character mistake - he discusses lab costs throughout production of "Chubby Rain", so he knows perfectly well what is coming.

Correction: The correction makes absolutely no sense. Bowfinger only had $1240 available to him, and he had no way of knowing he could charge the printing and processing costs of Chubby Rain to a third party - he hadn't even met Daisy at that stage. He does not have the money to even start making his film.

Correction: He was not saying it costs $1240 seriously. He is well aware of the costs involved, but since he only had $1240 saved up, he was trying to convince his actors and crew that he could produce the film for $1240.

The Crazies (2010)

Corrected entry: The sheriff is transported out to Quik Phil's, and determines to return to the town. It is later established that the truck stop is 25-27 miles out of town, yet Sheriff Dutton manages to return, on foot, despite roadblocks and armed military, within hours.

Correction: A person walking at a brisk pace averages 4 mph. To go 25 miles would take about 6.5 hours. The truck stop would be 25 to 27 miles along the main road. Being the sheriff, he would likely know shorter overland routes or shortcuts to avoid roadblocks. Jogging, or walking faster would take less time.

rswarrior

The sheriff may have found a bicycle along the way or any kind of conveyance. Nothing in the movie implied that he walked the entire way.

Knight & Day (2010)

Corrected entry: On board the airplane, when the cockpit door swings open after the crew has been shot, a twilight/night sky is visible through the cockpit window while bright sunlight is still coming through the cabin/passenger windows.

Correction: That happens when you're at 40000 feet.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When Snow White first looks inside the house, she rubs off some fog on the window. So does a raccoon. Later, when the dwarves come home from work, they see smoke coming out of the chimney and gasp. But the fog on the window is untouched.

Correction: As would happen when the fog reforms on the glass.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: The gang member who questions Park Chang-yi about the duel is wearing boots with modern rubber soles, even though the movie is set in the 1940s.

Correction: Boots with rubber soles were patented in 1899.

Corrected entry: When Nick is in the "Sup Dawg" place, he gets a call on his IPhone. When they go back in time, he is on the ski slope (trying to get a signal) with a flip phone.

RodThaBod
