Joel lives in Illinois, when Lana wants to make love on a "real" train they end up on a subway. there is no subway in Illinois. [Incorrect. Chicago Transit Authority runs the Chicago El (as in elevated train system) however, according to Wikipedia 12.1 miles of this system indeed runs underground.]

In several instances in the film, it is stated that Joel scored a 597 on the Math portion of his SATs. SAT scores are always multiples of ten. He could have scored a 590 or a 600, but not a 597. [I got a 753 verbal and 635 math in my SAT .]
