Saw III (2006) - 26 corrections
Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.
Almost all of the women in the hospital scene are wearing earrings or other types of jewelry. My best friend's mother was a doctor for many years and none of the doctors or nurses were allowed to wear any jewelry while they were at work. An earring could fall off into a patient, a ring could get snagged, etc. Too many risks. There shouldn't have been any jewelry being worn in the hospital scene. [Thats not true in all hospitals. At the hospital in my county all the nurses wear jewelry, so not all hospitals have this rule.]
This goes back to the original Saw, but it's present in the flashback scene in Saw III. When Adam opens up his closet (in the original) he's holding the bat in his right hand and the camera in his left. In the flashback scene you get to see it from Amanda's point of view, and he's holding the bat in his left hand and the camera in his right. [I just went back and watched this scene both in the first and the third Saw movie, and in both versions, when Adam opens the closet door and pauses in front of it, he has the bat in his left hand and the camera in his right.]
The straw in Jigsaw's drink is on the opposite side of the glass during the flashbacks when he's telling Amanda that it was actually her test. (During the scene at the start of the movie it was at the front of the glass, during the flashback it's at the back of the glass). [The flashbacks are of events that happened much earlier, and he might have taken a sip from the straw since then, so it makes sense the straw is not in the same place.]
As Jigsaw is dying there is a shot of him slowly closing his eyes and there's no tear or anything. The shot cuts to Jeff for an instant (less than a second), then back to Jigsaw, and there's a tear and a tear run all the way down his cheek. There wasn't enough time for him to cry it out. [Tears do not always more slowly. They can move quite fast, and move down your face in less than a second, so this is actually possible.]
When Lynn is shaving Jigsaw's head it is extremely obvious that she's not actually cutting his hair. The clippers come nowhere near his scalp. [Thats because Jigsaws hair is thick and fluffy. You must thin the hair before cutting at the root or you risk painful catching and jamming of the clippers in the thicker hair, trust me, I shave my own head. It happens a lot in the cheaper models of clippers, and everything Jigsaw uses is cheap, found, self-made and often very old and even sometimes rusty.]
Amanda's flashback scene shows Jigsaw placing her in the chair, then putting the first part of the "Reverse Venus Flytrap" device in her mouth. She has no black lipstick on in those shots, but she was wearing black lipstick during that scene in the original Saw. Later, during the flashback, you see her coming out of the building and she has the black lipstick on. [I've watched the scene several times and paused on the one specific shot showing Amanda's lips and the black lipstick can be seen as Jigsaw tilts her head back.]
When setting the bathroom trap, John looks in the mirror and says 'It's time to start our game." One would think he's saying this to Amanda, but he says, "Zep, its time to start our game." The word Zep has been removed. [You cannot see Jigsaw mouth the word "Zep." It looks more like he is simply sighing before delivering his line.]
At the end of "Saw II", Larry's sawn-off foot is green and moldy like the corpses of Adam and Zep. Yet in this movie, only a few minutes after being locked in, Eric looks at Gordon's foot, and it is now orange bronze. [Untrue. It appears slightly orange/bronze simply because of the weak flashlight that is being used to illuminate it. Should the regular lights have come on, it would look greenish and rotted as it did in "Saw II."]
After the guy's left leg snaps there is a shot of his face and you can easily tell that he's passed out. His mouth is slightly open, his head is tilted to the side, and his eyes are rolled back into his head.but less than 10 seconds later his head starts being cranked and he's wide awake. It's debatable whether he'd even stay awake through this entire experience in the first place, your body will shut down after hitting a certain pain threshold, and breaking most of the major bones in the body would probably do that. That fact aside, if he did finally pass out, it would take more than 10 seconds to be fully awake and aware of your surroundings. [Already submitted and corrected.]
All of the ground up rotten pig that is shown splashing over the judge is extremely liquid, yet in one of the last scenes of the judge still padlocked down you can see lots of solid chunks floating in the goop. There's no way that those big chunks could have made it through all of the blades, some of them even look too large to have been able to fit through the hole that the liquid was coming from. [Watching the scene, it is obvious that those types of blades could not completly liquify the pigs, so there deffinitly should be large chunks in the vat. Also, none of the chunks are too big that they couldn't have fit through the hole.]
It's been mentioned that Eric throws his light at Amanda in Saw 2 but it roles back to him. He actually throws the tape recorder because he cant reach his light or gun in this movie. [I see no mistake in this entry. He throws the tape recorder at Amanda just for the sake of throwing something at her. He has not yet had time to go for the gun and flashlight, which he does at the start of this movie. There is no mistake here.]
When Jeff plays the tape in the freezer, Jigsaw mentions that Danica Scott fled the scene after witnessing his son's death. If so, then how does he know who she is if she never testified against Timothy at his trial? There would be no way for Jigsaw to have known who she is or to find her. [Jigsaw seems to know a lot of things about a lot of people. How did he know about the original wreck? I assume it means that he was there when the accident happened, that's a very plausible assumption.]
During the 'brain surgery' scene, John has a flashback. In one part you see him filming a woman. The camcorder he is using is a 2006 model. It looks an awful lot like a European Sony Hc 44 model only with the brand taped off. Since he doesn't looks that sick in this flashback, is should be before the original Saw dated 2004. [Well we don't know what year the movies take place in so its not a mistake.]
Jeff is portrayed as Lynn's husband in the end but Chris is the one that asks Lynn for a divorce at the beginning of the movie. Chris is also illustrated as the man that Lynn is having an affair with. So it doesn't make sense that Chris would ask her for a divorce when he is not in fact her husband. [Chris isn't asking Lynn for a divorce. he is actually asking her to divorce her husband, presumably so they can be together. He never specifies who he is referring to, as it relates to the twist at the end of the movie.]
Kerry's hands are above her head when she first comes into the room where the guy was chained up. The detective says "it's not detective Matthews" and she slowly starts to lower her arms, but they are still above her head. The shot cuts in to a close-up of her and you can tell by her shoulder position that her arms are already down by her sides. [Not a mistake. Just watch and you can see her lower her arms.]
In the "twisting machine" scene, Jeff reaches for a key in a glass box. At the other end of the box is a shotgun, its trigger tied to the string that the key is on. The man removes the key but accidentally triggers the shotgun. The blast only grazes him, but it obliterates the judge standing behind him. Considering where both men were standing, Jeff should have got more of the blast than he did. [You can see Jeff moving away just in time not to be hit.]
