Pretty in Pink (1986)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning when Buttercup tells Westley to fill her buckets with water, her hair goes from being all over one shoulder in her closeup, to hanging down her back as she walks away. When she turns around, it's all over her shoulder again.

The Karate Kid (1984)

Continuity mistake: When Daniel is eating in the restaurant with his mother, from the exterior shot looking in the window, Daniel's hand is underneath his chin. But when it cuts to the inside of the restaurant, his hand is suddenly down near the table.

Mona Lisa Smile (2003)

Question: What does the title have to do with the story, other than the reference to a work of art? I know many people think that the real Mona Lisa has a mysterious smile, but does that have anything to do with the film?

Krista

Chosen answer: There is a short discussion (I believe between Kirsten Dunst and Julia Roberts) about things not always being what they seem. They are speaking about the girls' lives, but it also is symbolic of the Mona Lisa smile. Whether she is really smiling is left up to the person viewing the portrait: is she smiling because she is happy? Is she trying to cover up grief/sorrow? Is she smiling at all?

True Lies (1994)

Trivia: When Gibson is bringing up Juno Skinner's information on the computer at the beginning, it says she was born in 1959. But in reality, Tia Carrere was born in 1967. I wonder if she was insulted that the producers thought she looked almost ten years older than she actually was? (00:08:35)

Pleasantville (1998)

Trivia: In the courtroom scene, all the people that have turned to color have to sit on the upper level. This is reminiscent of "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1963) where, in a similarly-built southern courthouse in the 1930's, all the "colored people" (African Americans) were relegated to the upper level.

True Lies (1994)

Continuity mistake: When Simon takes Harry for a ride in his car, he drives with his left hand on the wheel and his right arm down near his side. But in one shot he pats Harry on the shoulder, and suddenly his arm is up on the back of the seat. (00:53:45)

Trivia: When Jerry returns home after his fight with Myra over her virginity, the theme song of "Gone with the Wind" starts playing. Jerry then scoops Myra up in his arms and carries her off to bed, just as Rhett Butler did to Scarlett.

Trivia: Take a look at the tall Redfeather girl who pals around with the shorter blonde one- it's a young Tori Spelling.

Trivia: The Christmas song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" was written for this film.

Trivia: When Laura's husband hits her at the beginning and she falls on the floor, it's really Julia Roberts falling. It's her head actually banging on the floor. Fortunately, the filmming crew got it on the first take.

Schindler's List (1993)

Trivia: Director Steven Spielberg refused to accept any money for the film because he thought it would be inappropriate. He had no salary, and he diverted any money on the back end that would have gone to him to the Shoah Foundation, which records testimonies of the survivors of genocide.

Office Space (1999)

Trivia: Director Mike Judge wanted the story to be able to take place anywhere, so the state is never specified. Even the license plates on the cars are stateless.

Grease (1978)

Trivia: Singer Olivia Newton-John had hardly done any acting, and was terrified of starring in a big-budget musical. John Travolta (who was also a singer) was really supportive, and when Newton-John made a mistake during filming, he would make it look like it was his fault and take the blame for it.

Trivia: The traffic jam that Leo Beiderman travels through at the end was made up of 2,000 cars and 2,500 people on a not-yet-opened stretch of highway in northern Virginia.

Anger Management (2003)

Trivia: Meatball the husky cat isn't really husky; he was just wearing a fat suit. The filming crew had to keep fans constantly blowing so he didn't get too hot.

Krista

Trivia: The racist epithet "ni***r," used so prevalently in the book, was understandably left completely out of this family-friendly movie.
