Grease (1978)

Trivia: Singer Olivia Newton-John had hardly done any acting, and was terrified of starring in a big-budget musical. John Travolta (who was also a singer) was really supportive, and when Newton-John made a mistake during filming, he would make it look like it was his fault and take the blame for it.

Continuity mistake: When the waitress is cleaning off the table after the kids leave, the plates on her tray all appear to be empty. But Danny's and Sandy's plates are completely full when they leave, and no one touches their food. Kenickie takes one bite of a burger on a different plate, but not nearly enough to empty it.

Grease (1978)

Continuity mistake: During the dance, there's one song where the guys stand in one line and the girls in another, and the couples take turns walking down the middle. In one shot, Danny is placing Sandy in line, and a couple (the woman has a blue dress on) is already starting down the middle. Then it cuts to another angle and no one is in the middle. Back to the first angle, and people are in the middle again.

Grease (1978)

Question: As Kenickie is getting ready to drive at Thunder Road, he talks to Danny about a movie where a guy's friend acted as his second in a duel, and then asks if Danny would be his second at Thunder Road. Danny asks if Kenickie wants him to ride with him, Kenickie says no, then they seem to have this moment of mutual understanding and they hug. What's all that about, besides showing that they're friends? What did Kenickie want Danny to do as his second if not ride with him?

Krista

Answer: Kenickie is basically saying to fill in for him in case something happens to him. At this point in the movie he still thinks that Rizzo is pregnant, basically wanting Danny to be his baby's godfather. So pretty much saying will you be my second, is saying if anything happens to me take care of my child. Because he's his best friend. And Danny understands what he's saying and happily agrees.

Chosen answer: It's a dueling term. Each party would name a trusted representative (a "second") who would, between them, determine a suitable "field of honour". It was also the duty of each party's second to check that the weapons were equal and that the duel was fair. The exact conversation was: "Hey, Danny, uh... We've been friends a long time, right?" "Yeah." "Remember the drive-in the other night. There was the duel. The guy's best friend went with him, like his second?" "Yeah. So?" "Well, uh... I thought that you could be my second at Thunder Road."

Answer: No I think he was basically trying to ask Danny to be his "best man" if he married Rizzo (because of the baby).

Grease (1978)

Continuity mistake: During the dance contest, when Kenickie and Cha-Cha are dancing around like crazy (when she puts her foot up on his shoulder), you can see Danny and Sandy in the background, standing on the sidelines. Given that they're the last couple on the floor at the end, they should still be out dancing at this point.

Grease (1978)

Continuity mistake: In the middle of the dance contest, Patty Simcox does a funny front walkover, and comes dancing towards the camera. Over her shoulder, you can see Sonny running up behind her. But suddenly it cuts to another angle, and Kenickie is running up behind her to lift up her dress, and Sonny is nowhere to be seen.
