Tremors (1990)

Revealing mistake: When Earl and Rhonda are being chased into the store and they're running along the little boardwalk, the boards are forced up like a wave by the snakeoid. But the ground under the boardwalk is perfectly flat.

Tremors (1990)

Continuity mistake: When the snakeoid is chasing Val and Earl after they lose their horses, they run along a fence and the monster causes all the fence posts to fall over backwards. But shortly after, all the fence posts are seen to be upright, although some are tilted a little to the right.

Suggested correction: We only see 4 fence posts fall over in total. Considering there are probably 50+ fence posts there, I don't see how this can be an error.

Tremors (1990)

Continuity mistake: The green fuzzy dice in the guys' truck change over and over. Sometimes they're stuck up behind the rear view mirror, sometimes they're hanging down. Granted, they could fall and the guys could stick them back up again, but in one scene when they're behind the mirror, the faces of the dice that are visible from the front change.

The Mummy (1999)

Continuity mistake: When the blonde bad guy is walking towards the open window with his gun, the plants near the window, and even the ones against the back wall, are blowing in the wind, but the plants and trees outside are perfectly still.

La Bamba (1987)

Continuity mistake: When Ritchie is driving, it shows the speedometer at 80 mph, but in the wider shot he's obviously going much slower. You can tell by how fast the lines on the street are going past.

La Bamba (1987)

Continuity mistake: When Donna and Ritchie are riding in Donna's convertible they're going relatively fast, but Donna's hair is hardly blowing at all.

Trivia: When shooting the scene where Isabelle Two is shot and Tristan gets beat up by the policemen, the actor playing the policeman accidentally really hit Brad Pitt on the head with the baton, giving him a black eye. Shortly after that, they shot the tennis scene that's near the beginning, and Brad Pitt still has his black eye. They had to make up a couple of lines about his "shiner" to explain it.

Carlito's Way (1993)

Continuity mistake: When Carlito and Gail are in the coffee shop, Gail lifts her cup to her mouth with both hands in the closeup, but when it cuts to the wide shot it's only in one hand.

Krista

Continuity mistake: When Sharon Stone and the old man are talking in the graveyard it's raining. In the closeups, the sky is seen to be somewhat white and cloudy, but in the wide shots, the sky is a deep blue, and almost completely cloudless - and it's still raining. In the wide shot you can see the ground outside of the graveyard is bone dry.

Question: When Frodo and Sam are on the side of Mount Doom and Frodo can't walk anymore, Sam says something like, "I can't carry the ring, but I can carry you," and then picks Frodo up and starts carrying him. But really, why can't Sam just grab the ring and run into the mountain with it? It's only a short distance at that point. I understand about how Frodo was meant to be the ring bearer and all that, but Sam was the ring bearer while Frodo was captured, so why not again?

Krista

Chosen answer: Sam only managed to get the ring away from Frodo last time because Frodo was unconscious. While Frodo is exhausted, he's still going to fight back should Sam try to take the ring away, so it's just easier to let him keep the ring and carry him up the mountain.

Charlotte Gray (2001)

Plot hole: The police wanted to take Julian's father away as a Jew because they found out his grandparents (plural) were Jewish. Even assuming they were only talking about one set of grandparents, this would make the father half Jewish, and therefore in the eyes of the Nazis, a Jew. That means that Julian would then be one quarter Jewish, and also considered a Jew. But the police then go on to say that the father is one quarter Jewish, but Julian is only one eighth Jewish, and therefore not a Jew. But he'd have to have only one Jewish great-grandparent to be non-Jewish, and they already confirmed that he had at least two. The numbers don't add up.

Personal Best (1982)

Revealing mistake: The actors all have the speed, form, and physique of high school athletes- not people headed to the Olympics.

Krista

Continuity mistake: In the extended DVD, right before Faramir lets Frodo, Sam, and Gollum go, he grabs Gollum around the neck. The problem is, he grabs Gollum from behind, so his hand is on the back of Gollum's neck. He then pushes Gollum up against the wall, but suddenly his hand is in the front. I've watched this closely, and there isn't enough time for Faramir to twist his hand around. (01:42:20)

The Ring (2002)

Question: What was the deal with all the horses drowning? Was it just because Samara was evil and she was causing it? What about the horse Rachel sees on the ship that freaks out? Is it scared of Rachel because she's been "infected" by the tape? She's already showed the tape to Noah, so she should be okay at that point, right?

Krista

Chosen answer: When Samara was sent to sleep in the barn the horses kept her up at night. Therefore they have ended being negatively affected by her and the video.

wolfchild

Answer: After Samara was released from Eola, she returned to the Morgan's house but was sent to sleep in the barn because Richard wanted to keep her as far as humanly possible from Anna who was suffering from horrible hallucinations caused by her. Since the horses kept her up at night, she drove them to suicide, but she had also told her doctor that her daddy loved the horses not her, so she probably drove them crazy out of childish jealousy as well. As for Rachel, she was affected by the curse and by Samara and as a result her presence drove the horse crazy.

National Velvet (1944)

Continuity mistake: When Velvet sits down next to her mother in the attic, she sits sort of behind her, near her elbow. But for the close-ups, Velvet's suddenly moved around to her mother's front for a more comfortable eyeline.

National Velvet (1944)

Continuity mistake: When Velvet falls off the Pie, the position in which the stunt double lands on the ground doesn't match the position Elizabeth Taylor is in when it cuts to her rolling to a stop.

National Velvet (1944)

Continuity mistake: In the first scene in the schoolhouse, it looks like the youngest girls are sitting in the front row, and the girls get older each row that goes back. (Velvet is in the second row and her sister, who's in her last year of school, is in the back row and the girls in each row apper to be the same age.) But in the scene the following winter - the next school year - Velvet is sitting in the first row.

Continuity mistake: When Edwina is folding up the Pie's horse blanket, she places it over her left arm. But in the very next shot it's suddenly over her right arm.
