Goodnight, Seattle: Part 1 - S11-E23

Continuity mistake: (This is for "Goodnight Seattle.") When Eddie is eating the pate with the ring in it, in the wide shot we see that he's finished all the food and is licking the plate clean. It then cuts to a closeup, and the plate is suddenly full of food. Back to the wide shot, and he's licking a clean plate again.

Crazy/Beautiful (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Nicole is crying in the driveway after her father tells Carlos to leave and she tells her father to leave her alone, she has her arms wrapped around her head in the closeup, but in the wide shot her hands are down on the ground.

Question: During the buffalo hunt, Smiles A Lot's horse falls over, causing him to fall off. But I can never figure out why the horse falls to begin with. He's standing still, and there are no buffalo nearby to spook him. Even if he were spooked by something unseen, how would that cause him to fall over, rather than just bolt?

Krista

Chosen answer: The buffalo that later charges Smiles A Lot comes up and butts into the side of his horse, knocking it over. It can't clearly be seen because of the way the shots change, but that's what happens.

Question: Maybe I just missed something, but what's going on with Dunbar's military superior that he meets at the fort out west? He seems to think he's a king or something, referring to the frontier as the "realm" and Dunbar's travel companion as a "peasant." At the end of the scene he salutes Dunbar very sarcastically and then shoots himself. What does any of that have to do with the story?

Krista

Chosen answer: It shows that the officer was mentally disturbed, and he was the only one in the fort who knew about Dunbar's assignment. It sets the story up so that Dunbar could live with the Indians without the Army interfering with his life (No one expected any communications to or from Dunbar).

Twotall

Answer: So why was his journal so important to him? He knows lots of soldiers and many other whites are coming.

Answer: Because it documented his time at the fort and with the Indians and also what he learned from them during the period when he arrived before the Army did show up - This would have been crucial if there had been any trial which there was not as the Sioux rescued him from the situation.

Continuity mistake: When Kicking Bird is trying to steal Cisco and Dunbar frightens him away, he falls over the fence. He scares his horse, who runs off to his right. But then Kicking Bird jumps up and runs to his left, and suddenly his horse is waiting for him there, standing still.

Empire of the Sun (1987)

Continuity mistake: When James is eating at home alone, he flips his spoon into his water glass. In some shots it's leaning against the right side of the glass, and in other shots it's against the left side.

Krista

Continuity mistake: There's a scene at the beginning with an old man and a dog sitting on the porch. Not only does the dog go from looking right to left from shot to shot, but in one shot he actually gets up and almost completely leaves the frame, and in the next shot he's laying down again.

Krista

Continuity mistake: When Guy and Dawn are in his apartment and Guy is called into the office, he puts his jacket on. His collar goes from being turned up in the back to folded down from shot to shot.

Krista

Continuity mistake: When Buddy is slowly pouring water in front of Guy when he has to pee, it takes a long time for the glass to get about a third full. It then cuts to Guy for just a second or two, and then back to Buddy, and suddenly the glass is almost completely full.

Grease (1978)

Continuity mistake: When the waitress is cleaning off the table after the kids leave, the plates on her tray all appear to be empty. But Danny's and Sandy's plates are completely full when they leave, and no one touches their food. Kenickie takes one bite of a burger on a different plate, but not nearly enough to empty it.

Grease (1978)

Continuity mistake: During the dance, there's one song where the guys stand in one line and the girls in another, and the couples take turns walking down the middle. In one shot, Danny is placing Sandy in line, and a couple (the woman has a blue dress on) is already starting down the middle. Then it cuts to another angle and no one is in the middle. Back to the first angle, and people are in the middle again.

Titanic (1997)

Question: Do Rose and Cal ever sleep together? I've heard that they don't, but in one scene Cal says something like, "There's nothing I won't deny you if you don't deny me tonight," and we don't see how she responds. And in the scene where Cal blows up at her at breakfast, he says "You're my wife in practice if not yet in name, so you will honor me." That's pretty suggestive.

Krista

Chosen answer: When he says at breakfast "wife in practice" he's saying that yes, they indeed sleep together which is also why she isn't hesitant about sleeping with Jack so quickly. She obviously was not a virgin.

Evita (1996)

Continuity mistake: When Eva is campaigning for Peron's release from prison, at one point she's at a microphone, standing among a crowd of people. There's a woman in an orange dress who's off to her left in the wide shots, but in the close ups of Eva, the woman is suddenly directly behind her.

The Missing (2003)

Continuity mistake: This is actually in a deleted scene on the DVD: Jones shoots a mountain lion at night, and it's seen to be completely dark out. The two other men go out to look at it, but when they're walking across the snow, the sky is suddenly pale blue and there's light just below the horizon. It looks like it's just before dawn or just after sunset. But when they reach the dead mountain lion, the sky is suddenly black again, and it looks like it's the middle of the night.
