Trivia: The original footage of the famous final scene was very disappointing. The set was small, and the cast only charged forwards a small distance before unconvincingly falling over when "shot". The scene was saved in editing, slowing down the video and audio enormously, and fading to an empty shot of no-man's land, then the poppies. The final result has been described as one of television's most powerful endings.
The Witchsmeller Pursuivant - S1-E5
Trivia: There are in fact two versions of the bonfire scene. Although most countries use the intended censored version (where somebody coughs right as Edmund says the F word) there are a few US editions where you can hear him swearing uninterrupted.
Trivia: Stephen Fry, who played Lord Wellington, ad-libbed most of his lines.
Trivia: BlackAdder was voted the second best British comedy, losing to Only Fools and Horses.
Plan E: General Hospital - S4-E5
Trivia: When Blackadder is explaining how he caught the nurse as the German spy by saying three schools of which only two were great universities, Melchett says "Quite right, Oxford's a right dump." This is an in-joke, as Stephen Fry (who played Melchett) went to Cambridge, and Rowan Atkinson (Blackadder) went to Oxford.
Trivia: The episode "Blackadder Back And Forth" was originally shown only in an exhibit at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich.
Trivia: In the first scene of "Blackadder Back and Forth," a portrait of First World War Blackadder can be seen on the wall.
Trivia: During the scene about how to give the speech, Kenneth Connor coughs during the filming and Hugh Laurie does his best to stifle a laugh whilst berating Edmund. They were kept in, adding to the hilarity.

Answer: The closest we ever get to knowing his first name is in series 3, when he claims it's "Sod Off". Blackadder asks him in series 3 where this came from, and he replies "Well, when I was a kid, living in the gutter, I'd go up to the other kids and say 'Hello, I'm Baldrick'. And they'd say, 'Yes, we know. Sod off, Baldrick.'" The S in this series is likely a reference to that, but it's not addressed, and given this Baldrick is clearly different from the series 3 Baldrick, we can't draw a direct link.
