The Rex Montana Story - S1-E35
Revealing mistake: When Flint follows the Indians, there's a strong wind blowing. But the two puffy clouds in the backdrop sky never move.
Revealing mistake: When Jan Clayton picks up the baby to go outside and torch the wagon, she swings the baby around carelessly, revealing the shiny (and unsettling) head of an old prop baby doll. (00:37:15)
The Rex Montana Story - S1-E35
Revealing mistake: When Rex interrupts the poker game, the camera pulls in for a close-up of the lantern - so close that we can see it's illuminated by a big round light bulb.
The Rex Montana Story - S1-E35
Visible crew/equipment: During Flint's observation of the pow-wow, tire tracks from the camera truck are visible in the background.
Factual error: At an 1868 church service, Mark sings "How Great Thou Art." While the tune of this hymn is 19th Century, the English lyrics he's singing weren't composed until the 1920s.
Factual error: In the first minute of the episode, there is a herd of wildebeest shown instead of bison, entirely wrong for the area. (00:01:00)
Continuity mistake: Jan Clayton steps out of the wagon, hands the baby to her daughter, then she lights a broom, but right when the girl says "What are you doing?!", she starts setting fire to the wrong wagon, and the mistake is instantly corrected in the next 2 scenes. (00:40:00)
The Mary Halstead Story - S1-E10
Revealing mistake: Mary dies at the end, but while Adams comforts Tom, it's apparent that her corpse is still breathing.
The Ruth Marshall Story - S3-E13
Visible crew/equipment: When Flint is dragged from the river by two Indians up to a log, at that point, for several seconds, in the upper right corner, a crew member, maybe the director, is in plain view. (00:41:00)
The Candy O'Hara Story - S4-E11
Factual error: The characters visit Aurora, Colorado. The series takes place in 1860s-1870s - at the time it was named Fletcher. (00:06:25)
The Frank Carter Story - S5-E34
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, Duke is riding back to wagon train and has a gun holster on his left side. However, when he rides into camp the gun holster has switched to the right side. (00:48:00 - 00:49:00)
Continuity mistake: Major Seth Adams, played by Ward Bond, is introduced to Miss Mary Richards and addresses her as such. A few minutes later he says goodbye to Miss Richardson.
Factual error: The wagon master is sitting drinking a cup of coffee, and he has two bandaids on the first and second finger of his hand. Bandaids were not introduced until the 1920's.
The Isaiah Quickfox Story - S8-E17
Factual error: At the end of the show Robert Fuller told Charlie the bat he had been a fruit bat. There are no fruit bats in North America. Their habitat is Australia, Africa and Asia.
Other mistake: As the 2 buffaloes are walking out of the scene at the top of the hill Charlie says to Clyde that 'it's either gonna be her or me' but as both buffaloes' bellies are exposed in the same shot, it's clear that both buffaloes are males, or bulls.
